Hey everyone,

I have written and ebook and video course.
I am closing in on finishing the website and my go live date is getting closer.

Originally the site was just planned to be a sales page with membership options to access the ebook or at a higher price the video content.

However nobody is going to find my site I need to start working on generating traffic. Now I know that's a HUGE topic. My original plan was to pay for traffic through PPC etc. However, I think I am going to need a plan B. I was looking at google's Adwords and the price of the keywords in my niche are very expensive. My lower priced item is $40 and I would need to be converting at about 25% just to break even.

So not sure what to do. The site doesn't have a blog as I wanted to keep the site simple with a clear sales message. And also I was prepared to put money into it as I don't want to spend a year writing blog posts before traffic starts building up. I'm not against a blog idea. But I can't do it half assed. I need to start writing a lot of content and I've spent months pouring all my knowledge into the ebook anyway. So the blog would repeat myself a bit I imagine.

Just not sure where to start with my traffic strategy.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

It's best to send people to an opt in page so you can collect ther email address. This way you can presell them your offer because not many people will buy the first time they arrive to your sales page.

Then it's just a matter of testing your funnel until it becomes profitable. When it does then you can scale with more traffic.

Thanks Jens. I do plan on giving away the first two chapters of my ebook for free based on an email sign up. But how would I even get people to that page?

Look at a JV with someone that already has the traffic you are looking for. Maybe someone in your niche that already has a list and JV with them. Look at the top search results for your keywords, see what comes up, maybe you can buy advertising direct with the top websites already getting the traffic. Look especially at forums for your topic, maybe you can buy advertising direct with them.

To be honest, traffic isn't really an issue if you have money to spend. As you mentioned, ppc would be a good start and bing ads might be cheaper than adwords. You ight have seen this thread already, but there you can find numerous traffic tips: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ffic-tips.html

The main issue is making your funnel profitable. If you're building a list then yu're well on your way to increase your conversions. You can send people back to your offer easily.

You also might want to consider setting up retargeting campaigns. Facebook is a good and easy way to start with this. Simply add their pixel on your homepage, and you can target the people who already showed interest in the offer. You can set this up in about 5 minutes and it will be very cheap as your CTR will be high.

Yes - building your list should be one of your primary goals.

It actually depends a lot on your budget. If you have a small sum with you, feel free to use the Facebook ads to help you drive some traffic quickly to your site. You can always get some ad coupons on Fiverr as well..

That's a good suggestion Origin. How is a JV different to an affiliate? I assume a JV will involve me giving a cut of the money they send my way.

I think I am going to need to get some articles out there.

If I do write articles. Is it better to write articles on other sites and direct them to my site? Or write articles on my site and hope google finds me?

Thanks for the input so far

JV is not much different from an affiliate, but you go more out of your way for a JV partner, maybe do a special deal for him, higher % comms and so on. They must however offer real value, more than a normal affiliate would. You could also off course offer it to affiliates themselves to market. create the marketing tools they will need and list your product on JVzoo / clickbank and get affiliates to promote it too, more traffic from people who ALREADY have the traffic you are looking for, and no ad spend, just commission on performance.

Google Adwords is expensive. I'm surprised they let you "in" lol. You should try Bing Ads, or start advertising on people's websites in your niche.... but not on direct competitors sites. Traffic is easy. I'm sure you have a good product, but you shouldn't fret on the traffic part. If the niche exists, then you can reach them thru many channels.

Good to hear a few of you say 'traffic isn't much of an issue if you have some money to spend'.

I've heard good things about solo ads. But they seem to be largely focused on IM. I am not in the IM niche. So will do research into whether there are any in my niche.

Unless you are willing to put in several hours every day into SEO, Paid traffic is your ONLY solution. Google Adwords is simply too expensive so we would recommend you purchase targeted pay per click traffic from a reputable provider.

Basically do a search on any search engine.... Bing, 7search, google...

Traffic doesn't have to come conventionally. Just think of an existing platform that already has the traffic you want to find. What is your market/niche? If you PM me I could give some tips.
