How do I enable auto email updates to threads that I start or reply to?

Right now it seems I have to manually "subscribe" to each thread that I want to receive emails from when a user posts.

Is there a setting I can change to make that automatic here on these forums?

Thanks.

Click on 'Thread Tools', just above your post (in the red bar) and click on 'Subscribe to this Thread'.

ETA: You will then have the option to receive emails to the threads you subscribe to.

Yeah, I know about that - I'm asking for a way to do it automatically when I create a thread (or even post in one).

      Thanks, though.

Click on 'User CP' in the top menu bar.

    Click on 'Edit Options'.

Change the 'Default thread Subscription Mode' to receive emails: 2014-08-06_1642 - MarkHess's library

When you open one message in a conversation, all of your related messages will be stacked neatly on top of each other. We call this Conversation View. In Conversation View, each new message is stacked on top of the ones that arrived before it, so that the newest message is always the one you see first.

To see all the messages in a conversation, just click the "Expand all" button.
A conversation will break off into a new thread if the subject line of the conversation is changed, or if the conversation reaches over 100 messages.
