How does Teespring work?

I've gotten to read that it is free to setup a campaign, but how does it work exactly? The shirts aren't on sale anymore after the deadline? This is, I guess, the only question I have.

It's crowd-funding for tshirts.

So you create a campaign, set the number of tshirts you think you can sell (the more you sell, the higher your profit margin per tshirt) and the length of the campaign. If you reach the goal within the campaign length then the customers get charged and the tshirts get printed. If the campaign does not reach it's goal then no one gets charged and no tshirts get printed.

Essentially you design a Teeshirt and get it uploaded to Teespring.

Once you are there you set a minimum limit for the # of items that need to be reserved.

Reach that goal (or surpass it) and your items will be printed and sent out. Not make your goal and those people (if any) who have reserved a item do not get the shirt but they do not get charged either.

And they likely get a nice email apologizing for the inconvenience.
