eBook sales page - on money site or new site ?

I am planning to sell an ebook and have it promoted by affiliates.
Should I put the sales page in my money site or should it be in a completely different site ?

Money site - this is my main site where I get most of my traffic. The ebook is relevant to the theme of the money site.

My worry is what happen if a spammer start pushing this ebook - can it affect my money site ?

Thanks

I hope it will be better placed in the money site . As you must already have a visitor base. You can always avoid spam.

Create a new web site for your ebook, but not because of potential spammers.

        Why? Branding!

You'll be able to brand the new site specific to 1) you or 2) your product(s).

The fact that you already have traffic to your existing money site is immaterial. That traffic is not accidental. It is either the result of being found in the search engines, or it is direct traffic from links you've placed in promotional email, ads, posting on social sites, etc.

That traffic won't automatically start showing up on your ebook sales page if you put it on your "money" site. You'll still need inbound links to that specific page, so you'll still want to promote your sales page in all the ways you currently promote your current money site.

In other words, there is little to be gained from putting it on your existing site.

If you create a new site for your own product(s), you'll be able to brand the site specific to 1) you or 2) your product(s).

In addition, you can add a pre-sales page on your existing money site with a link to your new site. If you are currently passing page rank from your existing money site to various affiliate offers, why not use some of that traffic to promote your own product?

I would create a separate site, but link your money site to it or have it link back to your money site (depending on which way you want the link juice to flow).

Personally I like to have everything on the same site. For me it's easier to have one hub for all your information. if you are worried about spammers it may be the better option to have it on a separate site unless you are careful for who you approve as an affiliate.

If you want to get it up and test conversions, just make an addition page to your site and make it happen.

If it will be a flagship type product, you can always create another site just for it and get the affiliates to mail lists if you've got the numbers.

It's up to you whether or not you want speed or more.
