How to find out authority sites in niche?

How can I find out the authority sites for the niche of my own websites? what tools/websites can tell me that kind of information? Paid options are also fine.

Try using SEOquake, you can easily determine whether that website is an authority site or not.

Use Alltop.com to see the top blogs (and top articles) in any niche.

I personally use alltop to do the foundational research of any niche when I first start going into something new.

Why not Google it? Just enter your keywords into search and the top results will usually represent what Google thinks are 'authoritative' sites. Now, this might seem like a simplistic answer, but doesn't it make sense? Google is always saying how they prize and reward authoritative sites by giving them higher placement in search. Also, authoritative in one niche won't look like it will in another. For instance, there is a big difference in what an authoritative medical/health site would look like versus one for humor. So use your best judgement, just depending on what your niche happens to be.
