Unexepected money making

Hello to everyone!
Has anyone ever ended up making money say on a website (or system) they set up and forgot about or that they never finished. Maybe by some fluke traffic got diverted to it that they weren't expecting. There's probably some interesting stories around.
Just thought it might be a interesting thread.

    Yes, and it happened 2 years ago. I built some article directory links to one of my sites and it was sandboxed for 5 months. I forgot about it and then I started seeing some additional sales in my Amazon associates account after 5 months had elapsed.

    I searched for my target keyword in Google to see where the website was ranking in Google and, to my greatest surprise, it was ranking on page 1. That's how it happened .

    5 year old domain with a 3 year old 'ready-made niche site' purchased here at the WF... Followed by at least 2 years of absolute neglect.

    Random email inquiry about the site/domain one day, within a couple weeks, sold the site to that person for nearly $10k.

    Still puts a big smile on my face when I think about it.

    I had an article on my Blogger blog written about 6 years ago, that was just about when i
    got started in IM.I did not remember about that blog as i had abandoned it.
    To my surprise it moved up to page 1 ranking on Google earlier this year and i got
    some commissions from Clickbank.

      About 10 years ago I was playing World of Warcraft and noticed a few people selling game guides online. I wrote a quick article and put it up on a free website with a crappy template and promptly forgot about it.

      A couple of months later I got a cheque in the post by "some company" called Clickbank and then I remembered. The cheque was for $100 and change but because at the time I was running a successful mail-order business making tons of money the small success barely registered. On top of that when I tried to cash the cheque to my UK bank they said they couldn't take the cheque and I'd have to send it back to the US. Those were the days when banks were pretty backward with all this kind of thing. Anyway, I filed it away and it moved with me from house to house until I threw it in the bin about 4 years ago (lol).

      I still think about it now and then and get a bit nostalgic. Not about the lost money - moreso a touch of regret that even though I was running a business online I had no idea about proper "internet marketing" and it would be another 4 or 5 years before I discovered the Warrior Forum, long after I had sold the business.

    I never expect to make money, that way I'm never disapointed if I'm not making a sale

    Built a Onesie website one day in about 5 hours, and completely lost interest in it the next day. Still makes about £0.50 a day with Amazon associates lol. Still never touched it.

    I have few Adsense websites, but after the different google updates, i lost rankings and then was never interested to build any more adsense sites. But still i earn around $150 per month from these sites with not even touching them.
