There are too many variables at play to give you an accurate answer.

Quality of the copy, lead capture/no lead capture, including/not including replays of the webinar, quality of the ppc traffic, etc...

Essentially, there is no definitive answer to your question other than: test it yourself to find out.

Again, you have no way of knowing until you test.

It could be what you just said or it could be switched around. You have to test it. Not all copy is created equal and not all webinars are created equal.

Again... you're asking a question that can't be answered in ANY definitive way. Your example is nowhere near to an apples to apples comparison to what you're asking here. Webinars are extremely effective with in some niches, saturated in others, webinar presentation styles vary GREATLY as do conversions. Long form sales letters work well in some industries, but not all and again it depends on the quality of the copy.

Traffic > Webinar > Attending on average in IM is about 1/3rd of the registered attendees there are webinars that convert at 5% or at 60% (yes it happens), often within IM it falls between 10-35% depending on MANY factors.

Traditional sales letters, depending on where you get your traffic, cold traffic for example would convert at anywhere between .5% to 4% on the very high end, depending on copy quality and traffic quality.

Warm traffic can convert much higher than that, so anywhere between 8% to 25% on the VERY high end. Again, depends on too many variables.

This is just for IM. Change it to other industries and everything changes.

You have to test for your own market with your own traffic, nobody can give you a definitive answer. Even what is above is not definitive, but based on dozens of high volume vendors in IM that I associate with in various communities.

You're looking for an answer that you won't be able to get, or at least you won't get an answer that is anywhere accurate.

If you really wanted to test it out you could always record a "dummy" webinar and use it as a video on your site. Just say something at the beginning of the recording that questions will be answered later on and then put in a field with email address and a section for them to type in their questions. Then you can get back to them later via email. (Plus it will also help you out so you know the kind of questions people will ask)

It still will not be exactly as a lie webinar, but it would be the closest thing to it for you to test.
