Strange behaviour with Wordpress draft posts

I'm setting up draft posts on Wordpress (2.8)
using the edit, preview and save functions.

However every browser is running into problems.

FirefoxF (3.0.11) - after returning from a preview the draft
copy is 'lost' and you need to reaccess the post to
continue

Internet Explorer (8 Beta): unusable, editing is slow, jerky
and often causes the browser to hang

Opera (8.5) - the Preview button cannot be activated

Safari (3.1.2) - worked fine at first but now in the Edit
Draft screen the 'Save Draft' and 'Preview' buttons are no
long there

Help - I'm running out of browsers

    How odd. I just tried that in Chrome and FF. When I click on preview, the preview opens in a new tab and the text is unchanged and still there in the original tab.

    Is there a setting in Wordpress that determines how the preview opens, I wonder?

    Hi Harvey,

    I've only used 2.8 on a test blog so far, but I notice 2.8.1 beta 1 AND now beta 2 are already out as bug fixers.

      The fixes don't mention draft problems so I'll hold back for now.


      However, the problem has now got more bizarre.

      I am no longer able to save a draft with any browser.

      In other words I cannot use the draft feature

        Ah wait - it's just a matter of clicking on the Publish button and
        the other buttons appear.

        So at least it all works properly with Safari but not the others.
