Any reliable VPS hosting company??

We use BigScoots.com's managed VPS solution and it is amazing.

Their service is beyond fantastic, they respond to tickets lightning fast and are always willing to help with whatever I ask. It is kinda like having a server admin outsourcer on our team, but there are no charges beyond the VPS fees.

Now, they aren't the cheapest option, but with the traffic we serve, we really can't skimp and neither of us are comfortable beyond WHM.

If you have server admin skills, their unmanaged VPS' are cheaper.

Another option would be to check out the discussions at WebHostingTalk.com... Tons of options and even more reviews from some incredibly intelligent people in the hosting world, over there.

  I was with Liquid Web for years but the last 2 were not good. They constantly pushed me to upgrade to a bigger server where in the end it was just ridiculous what I was paying.
  
  I do not like to bash companies but the above is the honest truth.
  
  I have a VPS with Knownhost now and so far have been very happy and my server is 80% cheaper.

I stop using VPS long time ago. Get a cheap dedicated server, it's much more reliable since you own the whole server's resource. I used Greencloudvps for quite sometime now. Their price is good and reply to support request in a matter of minutes.

Depends on your budget? Try searching for foums dedicated to hosting. Burst was great in the past, but they recently went bust, so I can't recommend them. What's your budget and what kind of hardware specs do you need?

I use Ramnode.com and i absolutely love their VPS hosting. It is, however, unamanged which means you must yourself know the technical stuff like playing with Linux.

Like everyone who has mentioned WiredTree, I can vouch for their quality and great service. They are a great option. You could also take a look at Future Hosting and Bluehost as well.

If you're looking for an unmanaged cloud server, you could take a look at Atlantic.net as well, who are similar to Linode or DigitalOcean.

When it is hosting you get what you pay for. I use Hostnine and the support is super fast. Live chat is instant almost no waiting time. Very friendly and they know what they are doing. Oh, the price is not the cheapest one but I think it is competitive.

If you need cheap solution, VSP are great, but not the managed.

There is a great option I use with CooliceHost:

These plans are besically shared, but have the power and resources of the VPSs, and you do not need to manage it, as most companies will charge you for this management process, you probably know it.

For last few years I switched a lot of hosting. Why? Because they did not have good support or server speed. Finally for last few month I am using hostnine.com and I can say......... I am really pleased. It is not that much cheap or that much expensive.

When it is hosting there is not way you can be satisfied with a cheapest option. So find something that will sweet you. In my case hostnine is the perfect match for my need.

- Hostmonster? No. It's a "me too" service.
- Digital Ocean? No. It's NOT cloud.

I spoke to Bluehost this morning (about something different then VPS), and the tech support folks (which I like, they answer quick, always English speakers, etc) said they don't have a lot of VPS customers. This makes me wonder. Any thoughts? I'm working on a proposal with a business partner, and we need to decide on a VPS host in less then a week.

I have found wiredtree to be reliable. Tried turnkey webhosting as it offered a lot of discounts but had a frustrating time. They couldn't get my vps setup and working, yet they kept billing me and by the time they had set it up after about a month, they suspended my account for non payment. I wasn't going to pay the second month until my account was set up and it was not my fault. Considering that I had a few accounts with them and was not a new customer, the support was unsatisfactory.
