Hundreds of Article submission site or just the top 20, Which is best?

The top 20 or 30 will get me internal traffic from those sites, and search engine ranking and traffic, if I use good keywords. Is submitting to hundreds of directories strictly for creating a lot of back links to optimize my website, of will It actually generate traffic from these little know directories?

Different people have different strategies... In my opinion, you should stick with only the top few article directories.

If you plan to post to all directories, do so with other articles and link to your other articles in the resource box if you want... however I would say just look at backlink as a different strategy for your website and focus on only the top directories, and even better use articles to build an authority website and then building backlinks to that site

I personally only use 2 or three. Well 2 for sure those 2 are hubpages and eza. I have found these two drive the most targeted traffic. Everynow and again I will add in another one of the top 10 just depends on the mood I am in for that day.

You will also find by simply using the top 2 which is eza and hubpages. Then going and posting a 3rd or original on your blog. This should get you at least the top 3 spots if you did proper keyword research before building your title and keyword list for that article.

Then to hold the other spots I can build a video out of the articles and use a submission service like tube mogul or traffic gyser to take the other 7 spots on the key words I am targeting. This ofcourse is just my strategy while others may have a differt oppion then I do. Good luck with your campaign.

My opinion, you get the best results from the best article directories.
An exception may be if there is a directory of value in the particular niche you're in, if such a directory were to exist.

    I wouldn't even focus on top 20....

    Focus on 3 sites:
    EzineArticles
    GoArticles
    Squidoo

Get your articles published, indexed and then do everything humanly possible to get them in the top 3 of Google.

Search engine ranking and traffic is soooooo much more important than internal traffic.

    Keep it simple!

    Hey

If you want the best of both worlds, here is what you do: submit one to EZA, a rewritten one to Goarticles. Then bookmark those articles so that they rank high in search engine. Then spin your articles and submit them to the other directories for backlinks.

Michael is right though, search engine traffic would be a lot better than internal traffic

Ezinearticles, Go Articles, Search Warp, Articlesbase, and Scribe. Forget the rest. The extra traffic you get won't be worth the time it takes you to blast it out there.

In terms of bringing in the traffic I would focus on EZA. However, I do believe that just about any article directory is worth submitting to for backlinks.

What I would do is regularly submit articles to EZA for targeted traffic while simultaneously submitting unique articles to various other directories. Just try to keep things slow and steady when submitting to article directories other than EZA. I just think it would be a waste to ignore the hundreds of other article directories out there in terms of SEO.
