Good afternoon,

I am new to the forum and happen to run across this forum because I was looking into ways to do internet marketing and build a side funding source. I have now for the past year been looking into what the internet can provide for making a second source of income.

What really caught my attention to this forum was one thread that I read call "Why YOU Can't Make REAL Money Online!" = http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ey-online.html. Very interesting and provided some good detail.

I am not looking for some get rich quick scheme. I am wanting to put hard work into this just as I do my current profession.

I hope to speak with a lot of member here and grow some good relationships along the way. I just wanted to stop and introduce myself.

Now = time to look through these 1000s of threads and comments. If anyone has a good starting point it will be greatly appreciated but I have no problem working to weed through the information the site already has provided.

Anyways...happy IM.

    • Mister 704,

For me, it all starts with finding demand online for something that you can provide in exchange for money. It could be a service, some information, entertainment, a community that folks would like to join, a product that solves a problem . . . it could be many things.

But before you start thinking about what you're going to sell (a product or service), or how you're going to sell it (the platform - a blog, an e-store, a membership site, etc), you need to find "that thing" that folks will spend money on. So many new business owners decide what they're going to sell and how they're going to do it before they even check to see if anyone will actually buy what they are offering.

You don't create demand for your product . . . it is either already in the marketplace or it's not. Lots of business owners are doomed before they even begin because they have done no market research to see what people want to buy.

So start there. There are lots of posts here on doing your research.

      The very best to you,

      Steve

  • Very great point from Steve. Here is something to add in your quest of starting your online business. A lot of beginners will end up asking "why only a handful of people are successful and most fail".

I see a lot of people bring this up about every company in the industry. People will make comments about how only 20-50 people do well and thousands of people fail.

Theres a very good reason for that and it's not just online business. It's true for entrepreneurs in general.

So if you're struggling with this issue and you even let these negative thoughts creep into your head I suggest your read it, absorb it and then shut the front door.

Thinking like this will make or break you, I promise.

I used to think like this and I struggled for way to long from negative beliefs.

Successful people think different than average people.

In any company you will have a handful of movers and shakers and I will explain that in a minute.

Someone brought up today "Joe, do you feel bad knowing that only a few people succeed and most fail."

    My answer was absolutely not.

When people come into online business they have the wrong mentality for business. They look at business as a short term win or to "get rich quick".

Most people want to take shortcuts and just do the least amount of work to get results.

People come to me everyday and ask me how I'm doing so well with one of my affiliate product and I tell them create a custom sales funnel and build a relationship with your list.

They reply "Can't I just send traffic to the sales page?"

People come to me and say Joe if I buy 500 clicks on a solo ad how many sales will I get.

    How can I answer that?

Most people come into this business and just want to get rich without putting in any work.

Now some people will say Affiliate marketing or list building doesn't work, but I see people posting testimonials in this group all the time and from countries that I've never even heard of.

Now when you go into traditional business did you know that usually 8 out of 10 businesses fail.

Even in the NBA only a handful of ballers make it into becoming a player in the 3rd string bench.

It's no different than online business.

The reason only a handful of entrepreneurs make it and most fail is their mindset, determination and how they treat their business.

Most people think owning a business will just be all fun and games, but it requires work, nurturing, patience and passion.

This business requires you to learn a few new skills, you need to discipline yourself and you need to work on your mindset and self belief system.

1 year ago I was a nobody, bounced around from biz opp to biz opp and had mediocre results at best. I found a genuine mentor who has results and i just copied him and what worked for him and his students.

Eventually I realized this business came down to a few things.

    1.) Traffic

    2.) Building strong relationships

3.) Constant self improvement(education, coaching, my own self beliefs of myself and what I can achieve)

When I eliminated everything else and focused on those three things my income and success sky rocketed.

Most people will never get results because they don't even go through the training inside the company they join.

I provide free coaching on seo and marketing etc with hundreds of free hours to watch and most students won't finish my tutorials.

I've watched all of the training in my biz opps I join (yes every bit of it) at least once. Some multiple times and I'm still picking up new golden nuggets.

The reason only a handful of people succeed is most people are average.

Most people quit when they hit road blocks, most people would rather hangout with their friends and family over studying and most people will not make the sacrifices to become a top earner.

That doesn't mean you have to do this forever, but any highly successful entrepreneur put in a lot of time, money and sacrifices to build their business.

I started from being massively in debt so the excuse of no money I don't buy for the people who make it.

If you want to be successful you need to answer one thing.

Are you average or are you going to be successful?

Average people make excuses, quit when things get hard and they don't want it bad enough, but successful people do whatever it takes.

Since I dont know you personally I'm going to say that dont give up!

Don't focus on what average people do because it doesn't matter.

The only validation you need is to see that there are a handful of really successful people in Mobe or any company for that matter.

Watch what they do and model them and you will do just fine.

Paying attention to what average people do will only get you average results, put self doubts in your head and it will hinder your success.

    Joe
  • Most people don't want to hear it, but IM like almost everything else comes down to selling something.

It doesn't matter if you are selling a service or product, it always comes down to selling.
