One quick NOOB question

Hello Warriors

I have a quick question, so im hoping to start out soon as an Amazon Affiliate and launch a few niche sites and one of the things im nervous about is im not a great writer by any means.

I was wondering if anyone else started out like me and got better as they went along or if anyone knows anywhere (preferably free) online that can help me out???

Sorry if this is a stupid question.

Thank you

You will get better the more you do it.

You can also outsource or pay a writer to create content for.

    Good luck with your venture.

Just remember that when you are on the other side of the fence - earning a full time income from the knowledge you gathered from people in this forum...

Remember, and come back and help people who were once in your shoes.

That's why this forum is so great... there's quite a few people who started here, and haven't forgotten where they learned the ropes.

          Still learning

Thanks I certainly will. I'm not quite ready to take the plunge yet tho, need to garner some confidence yet Hopefully before long I'll be able to give advice too instead of just random words of support lol

Ishimoo, no one is born a great content writer, all of us have to learn over time to get it right. So yes, everyone started out where you are, some even further back than you and all of us had to learn, you will too. And you will learn mostly by DOING it.

If it is a serious problem, you may want to outsource your content writing to a good English writer (unlike me, English is my 2nd language) .

Just know that yes, if you work at it, you will get better over time. that's how we all did!

Just learn the ropes and keep doing! You'll get better every day. If you think your skills are still not good enough then find a write who is writing the content for you. There are plenty of good content writers out there and they are cheaper then you might think.

yes I agree, and two of the best content writers I have ever found are right on this forum.

So do a bit of searching, there are many gems in here, in the warrior-for-hire section. And not to costly for the beginer either. :-)

Congrats on taking action and stop just lurking!

I'm not a good writer myself, but without writing, you will never get a good writer.
Perfect sentences don't always make the difference for a sale! Just dive in.

Later on you can consider hiring freelance writers and tell them what to write about.

    Use word for proofreading.

Writing for the internet isn't like writing for English class. It's not that big of a deal. The most important thing is to be able to connect with your audience. When you're first starting out, this is easier if you are actually part of the niche that you are writing about.

Everyone should start somewhere. If your initially not that good at writing then hone your skills to improve it. Worrying about not being good at something just thickens the barrier that separates you from being successful.

You can always buy content, usually for $5 or more, copyscape tested. Or you could just become a better writer by continually blogging.

As long as you can write good conversational English, you should be able to write passable articles for a review-type site. It helps to read other articles in your niche to see what other people are doing. The more you work at it, the better you'll get.

Outsource your content writers, focus on your strengths - build a network of web 2.0 and articles pointing to your amazon sites this should give a nice push up the search engines and get you started .

I'd recommend both outsourcing your content and writing it yourself.

The more you read and write the better your writing will become. In fact I remember reading once that you should write for the waste basket, to write as if no one will ever read it. Just write.

Just take your time and make sure you edit it thoroughly.

If you feel your writing is not yet up to scratch then outsource your most important/urgent content which should take the pressure off you to write perfectly the first time every time.

      <sigh>

Call me churlish, but do people really still believe this antiquated, meretricious stuff, or do they just repeat it for the sake of something to say?

Google is extremely good at identifying "networks of web 2.0 pages" designed for SEO purposes, and really enthusiastic about penalizing their users, and says so very publicly and very repeatedly. Does it really make any long-term sense to try to use tactics which they're so determined to identify and penalize???

And being used to give you a "nice push up the search engines" is an appalling misuse of articles: that's like buying an Aston Martin and using it just to support the flower-pots in your backyard.

And who wants search-engine traffic anyway, for an Amazon site? Let alone "to get started" with one?! http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post8659398

Perhaps this thread will help the OP: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post6608638

As for taking time to actually learn how to be a good writer, why bother?

The good thing about an Amazon affiliate site is how you can hire out or outsource the writing to a professional writer. If you want more than meager results from your reviews/articles, you will have to pay a lot more than $5.00 for an article to post on your Amazon review site. But, let's say that for each article you pay $50 or $100 for, you actually generate that same amount of money every day your blog is active. Now wouldn't that be a good investment?

I started out like that with Amazon. When I got tired of writing myself, for both the money site and social sites, and I am a pretty good writer, I started to outsource all of my content. I was at first afraid to outsource because I didn't know much about that either, but its very easy and a huge time-saver. I no longer do this at all anymore as I have found better ways to leverage the same amount of work than Amazon sites but that's exactly how I got started with Amazon.

Just keep at it. You are going to have bumps along the way. You have to keep tweaking your sites to make them better. You will have winners and losers. But OH the winners!
