Customers getting redirected to porn and real estate sites

These past few weeks I've been getting quite a few customers complaining that the download links I send them after purchase, are leading them to porn search pages and real-estate sites. When they send me the links, they seem to work just fine.

Any ideas what might be going on? :s

Not exactly but you're the first person I've heard
    make this claim recently.

It sounds like someone has hacked into the system
generating your customer links. You don't see the
same thing because the links are probably cloaked
to show your IP address what it should see.

Just a guess, but I'd start there.

Are you sending them affiliate links? or links from your website? If you are sending them affiliate links then it might be a geo targeting issue.

This is a very common hack that has been going around lately. I had it happen to many of my own sites as well and have heard of many others experience it also.

The reason you don't see the porn sites is probably because you are viewing your sites on a desktop. Go and visit the infected sites on a mobile device and you will see what your customers mean. This hack is designed only to work on mobile devices.

You are going to need to get your infected sites cleaned up, it's the only way. All I can do is recommend to you the same company that I used to get rid of this infection on all my sites. They had 5 sites cleaned up for me within a matter of hours.

    I hope it helps:

Yes, there are some sites. when I click on the DOWNLOAD button, it open a porn/ ad site by a NEW WINDOW. Of course it is so disgusting to any user. When we see this kinds of affiliate think, it take a negative effect on the original site.

Thanks for your replies folks. I talked to my web host, they found some infected files, which I deleted, but the problem seemed to persist. Just today I realised that the file permissions for those download files were probably not set up correctly (the "Execute" check box was unchecked)... strange that because I've been selling this program for years, and didn't get complaints until recently.

Anyway, so I'll see how it goes from now

Ask your host to assist you again and make sure to change all passwords. Keep your scripts up to date if you are using any.
