I'm brand new here. I'm a big forum junkie and have been for years visiting all kinds of forum and even started my own while I was still in high school. As such, I'm excited to watch and see what kind of awesome information the community here can churn out for me.
I recently got hired into an entry-level position to help manage some of the extra work for the marketing department. I have tons of experience in direct marketing (door-to-door, retails, sales, and lead generation) but have limited experience in the online side of the marketing animal.
I'm very, very experienced with web design, UIX, and coding for websites, so it stands to reason I should be able to merge my experiences together to quickly become an expert on the subject of internet marketing.
That's exactly what my supervisor wants from me. We have our veteran leaving at the end of the month and he wants me to step into his shoes.
My question really boils down to:
What are the best *free* resources available for me to become the "expert" on the following subjects.
- Facebook/LinkedIn ads and marketing
- How to maximize ROI on PPC/CPM
- How to maximize results on sales funnels
- Biggest hurdles to overcome in internet marketing in general
- Best ways to produce new leads to push into the funnel
I've spent a fair amount of time looking at videos on youtube and examining articles on the internet but there are so many strategies and conflicting views it's hard to sift through the murk.
What are your suggestions, and who would you say are the most respected names in this kind of marketing that I should try to learn from?
Thanks in advance!
