I had to create a new email address and abandon my old email address because of so much spam

Most internet marketers send one email everyday and some internet marketer send three emails every day. And your email address is receiving advertisements from solo ads when they sell solo ads. and pretty soon you are receiving 100 emails a day. What really happens when you receive 100 emails a day?
You simply cannot read all those emails. So what do you do? Do you unsubscribe? The answer is no. The simplest way is to just create a new email address and abandon your old email address because of so much marketing messages. I believe Internet marketers should send one email every week and not just send so many emails, because soon people will stop entering their email address into opt in forms because they will learn that since they will get so much spam it is better to have a separate email address to receive marketing messages. Many people have many email addresses.
One email address for personal email
One email address for work email
One email address for receiving marketing messages.
So Internet marketers should send fewer emails
What's your opinion on this ?

Keep at least one 'throw away' address and the one that you use for real and this isn't a problem.

I use one to collect any optin offers etc,
    and one for personal things
and probably 30 for real business, that I have forwarded to one main address.

the one with the optin offers is completely jammed with you know what,
although I do try to make a point to read every message in them...

    you never know!

On the whole, you get what you pay for.

I think you should stop signing up to so many lists. If you have to, select the 3 or 4 that have proved most useful and put them on a new email address. Then delete your old one which has now become polluted beyond repair.

And remember that first and foremost you're a marketer, not a consumer.

You can use different folders and can use filter to send each type of email to specific folders. I follow this to differentiate my emails.

      Good things right there.

I use Yahoo and Hotmail to receive these.

You can only create 1 alias with Yahoo and 1 folder to all the email to that address.

Too much email, delete the alias.

Some internet marketers send you really good information.

Just answer their email will help you with building relationship and test if they actually care about you.

      So, Hotmail is awesome.

You can create as many alias as you want.

Create that much folder for each alias.

If you opt in 1 list, create 1 email alias for it.

Our group the whole internet marketers with name start with "A" in 1 alias.

      Trick for an alias name:

Use their name with a number.

      Use the street address.

Use a girl name - mix people's first and last name.

I have gotten to the point that I don't even open 95% of the emails I receive.

It's getting more difficult for internet marketers to come up with creative headlines to get their list to open those emails up.

All the above is just one small one among the many reasons why beginning marketers are making such a huge mistake if they set out in IM/MMO-related niches: the potential customer subscribers tend to be people who receive floods of email; their open-rates are very low and their attention-rates even worse.

I have been using separate email address for various purpose, my personal email id is only for personal use not for business purpose. On the other hand the business email is using only for business purpose only.

I dont care if people have multiple email addresses. The only one i care about is the one they use thru Paypal to buy my products. Don't let random people from all walks of life distract your marketing. YOU be in control of your marketing. And if a niche isn't responsive for whatever reason (ex: fake email addresses)... go into a different niche where people REALLY want the information, you will more than likely not have this problem (ex: how to pass the police exam. I mentioned this niche in a different post of mine).

    I have 5 email addresses:

    - 4 for personal and business purposes
    - 1 for marketing messages

They certainly do send too many emails. I tried unsubscribing from a few and found it a chore. The key to preventing this is refraining from subscribing to a list you won't need in the future or opting out immediately after getting what you want.

It is hard to come up with good headline sometimes.

    Thanks for that.

Many people are in that niche.

Off course the competition is really high.
