Give me your Suggestions: Site Redesign

Hi Everyone,

I am in the process of redesigning an outdated site that I purchased recently. The site is approx. 9 years old, and currently gets a ton of traffic, however, it has a terrible time converting visitors to customers (I am hoping this has to do with the design, as our pricing is very competitive). I am posting this here to get your opinions before I get started with the redesign work, as I am no professional in design. Your opinions, and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    The top header has too many distractions...phone numbers...and those 180px banners.etc

    The site is too busy. There's too much stuff going on there.

    The photos are too big and the slide show distracting impeding people from focusing on anything else. Those "free delivery" and "no sales tax" buttons are too big. Search should be centered or put top-right.

    I'd have two sections: left-side menu with types of furniture(like amazon) and a second content section, centered, where you'd show the most popular items and categories. Below that you could list all categories like you're doing now except you'd have just one column, not three. Three makes it difficult to focus on anything. As it is, your side is too "wide" right now.

    Hey dude,

    To me, there are too much hyperlinked and too much things to see. I recommend you to remove the unnecessary one and increase the size of a section or something. Make the userinteface much more user friendly.
