Hi, it looks nice enough.

A couple of things:
1. The dark blue links are quite hard to read on the dark background
2. Ensure that you have some good spam protection in place - invision boards can get spammed to death

12 members is a good start. When I started a forum I paid important people in my industry to sign up post in it. It gave me the opportunity to get my forum off the ground and of some relevance.

The first 12 are the hardest, but you must keep the forum active and interesting to get the forum to grow.

Yes 12 members is a good start - but you need more.

I've added reputation,post ranks,and an epic looking skin. Note that this is for Anime lovers but also has sections for other people to.

Encourage your members to be proud of the forum and get involved - create some banners, buttons, logo's and text ad's for your forum and get your members to help spread the word by linking to you on their FB's, Twitters, Websites etc.

Your forum looks good enough. Although the color of the links do not match with the background, it's not readable. 12 members are okay. Yes, give incentives to people who will register in your forum and ask for the members to promote your forum while you're promoting it too. You can't do it all by yourself, you need your friends' help who are interested in the forum you're trying to develop.

You are starting well 12 members are a good number to start!
If you want more members to get in, you should first have a number of threads posted in that forum, it should have some Unique & Usefull content! Then do the advertising, try to post something that few people know about

I would have preferred to see your main anime subforum at the very top. That part of the forum is at least a scroll down the page, below the first fold. Also, it doesn't look like you have many responses so far in the manga section, so maybe you could move that down below your anime section which already has more content and put staff central at the very bottom as it's only related to technical forum matters.

If the 12 members are active and posting, then it is a good start.

To get more members, you need to be active and engaged, you need to have some moderators who are active and engaged as well with different time zones. Promote your web on social sites and other forums where possible, recommend it to friends and family,etc.

You can also give free gifts to make members loyal, and also make contests to make the members engaged in a healthy competition.

Finally, I would look for a better template for the forum.

This is an excellent question as it will influence how heavily you promote the forum.

Though it seems logical to have a forum that's based on income, many times a forum owner will just be starting the forum as a hobby with no specific income goal in mind.

In that situation, they are just owning the forum for the love of the subject, rather than to earn money.

Your site looking good. If you have the real & active use at a first time, it is okay. To increase your user you should so the SEO, link building/ back link. I hope you will be success.

Another thing to think about here.* Anime forums are very common online.* Can you think of a way to make yours more unique than what is already being offered?* That's not to say you should not have an anime forum as it's likely your personal passion.* It's just that you need to define your forum with your own personal style and find a way to make it more unique than anything else out there.

What you said about creating a 'good relationship' with the few members is very relevant. When a forum owner takes time to nurture each member, talking with them and letting that person know their opinion matters, then they are likely to feel welcome and likely to come back for more conversations. If a member feels as if that forum is their home online, they are also likely to refer friends so they can see more friendly faces around.

You can build a highly successful forum based on this premise, one happy forum member at time.

Your site looks good. But my advice to you is to never use free forum hosting because you will never own a site. If your site goes big, you will never migrate it. Because you will never get the database of your site.

And, this happened to a friend of mine who owned a forum. She had a very loyal following on the forum, many members. When it was time to expand, she could not carry the databases with her. So many of the members did not make the trip to her new forum (paid hosting/domain). Losing half your forum membership can devastate a problem. There after, it was one problem after another until a year later, she shut it down.

Sometimes, members just don't want to go to the new site and start over as many of their favorite discussions are on the old forum. And, who could blame them?

When using social networks such as Facebook, you want to draw people from Facebook to your forum rather than asking them to leave your forum to visit Facebook to see your new content. You are trying to use Facebook as a funnel for the forum rather than sending traffic/members away from it.
