To build a business online, is it really necessary to hire a team?

Is it possible to do all the work yourself?

Building the website
Getting Traffic
Ranking in the Search Engines
Making Few Sales

I am not talking about a large corporation with 10+ employees and making millions, but a full time business where you are making maybe $500 to $1000 per week with your own website and you are the sole person in charge of running your website.

In the case of traffic, it's not as complicated as it seems, really.

If you have an information product ready, sell it with JVZoo or Clickbank. As long as you have a good product, a good sales letter, and great conversion rates, and offer a good pay cut for people to sell your product people WILL want to sell it.

When gurus say they have an army of affiliates ready for them they usually mean they have an email list (that they've built) full of satisfied and loyal affiliates who sell their products to make bank. This is how they make hundreds of thousands of dollars in a day.

I give away free training on this subject, feel free to click on the links in my signature below.

There are people who will build a website or create a product for you at a reasonable price.

You can try to do it all by yourself but it can take a long time, believe me I've tried.

    Outsourcing is awesome.

Is it mostly because people just don't have the time?

Or is mostly because a lot of people don't have the full know hows or knowledge to manage the business financing, accounting, SEO, advertising, website design, hiring, etc??

Very rarely you'll meet someone that knows how to do everything to run an online business. But luckily for us there are people who specialize in different things like website building, SEO, article writing, copywriting, etc.

I highly recommend making an investment to outsource, because chances are that if you're just beginning and try to do everything yourself, you'll end up with bad results.

it's possible, and a lot of folks are doing it. The real success however is probably in joint venture. Getting those affiliates to take it to the next level and get the traffic for you essentially.

AH! Your question is funny bigfoot12. I think you’re becoming worried with lots of things. In Ithe nternet marketing world, everything can look complicated some times.

Building a website is what gets traffic, rank you high on search engines and make you few sales.

But you have to do this one thing right!

Except your business is BIG, you don’t need a team.

Ever seen a grocery store with 10 employees attending to 1 customer at the same time?

if a person has all the time to do all these things, maybe it's enough or maybe two persons. but then when it starts growing, it wont be easy anymore than it began. maintenance needs more people because its not as easy as you think esp when your business is starting to boom. i suggest that instead of hiring a full team, you can outsource because its got cheaper costs you can save a lot and gain better outcomes bec theyre experts in that field.

thats just a suggestion but i hope im helping you decide.

I think I have the worse case of 'DIY' failure ever

I have great ideas, couple of great products, unique too, and services...

So I left my big job a few years ago and strapped in.to build all of my stuff, full of drive, passion and self belief. I had a pot of money from consultancy (I still got a year of that left)... but... being a software developer, it is my development time which is the product that I ultimately wish to sell. So I have developed software... in a dark room... by myself :-(

I never expected that the weight of risk combined with the feeling of isolation would damage my motivation as much as it has done before now. Belief never changes, but confidence is variable - confidence is what makes you pick up the phone to sell...belief is what makes you say what you say to get the deal. I haven't picked up the phone yet! Hence why I'm on here rummaging around to figure out how to turn this Worrier into a Warrior

So.. my two cents is this... If your business involves becoming isolated for long periods of time whilst you grapple with one techology or another (building websites, landing pages, it can go on forever) then be prepared for your motivation to take a hit at times. Without some kind of positive feedback from the world, you can become victim of your own lack of drive!

BTW - I am going to hook up with someone, maybe a JV or something. This whole marketing thing is fascinating but it will eat up all of my time and that will mean someone else will figure out that hole in my niche which needs filling before I do...

You can do every single bit of this yourself. In fact I recommend at least learning the basics of these skills before hiring a "team".

The reasons to hire outsourcers in my mind are to free up time when you have a system that works and you can afford to do it. It is possible to do this all yourself.

  • yes it's possible but it takes long and long time!
Why not outsource some of the tasks and you will save more time & money as well

    The short answer is no.

I don't know the exact percentage but I would guess 95% of IMers are one person operations.

Yes, it's totally possible. I am a 1 person company with 30 websites, make a lot more than $1000 per week and do all the above and everything else to boot. Yes, it's possible though it takes a lot of time. I'm single, no kids, and no other "life" really other than my business (and occasional gaming & puppy/kitty snuggle breaks), so the real question is - is it possible to do within the scope of your current life? Can you commit the time and do you want to give up other things to devote the time you need to work your business? If not, hire 1+ people or outsource some of the work to free up the time you want or need to spend on something else like a family or full/part time other job.

It all comes down to what you have available to you in all honesty - you can learn for yourself everything you ever need to know - but that takes time and effort (and money if you go about the education route).

If you have the time - then fine - by all means do all the work yourself - it will be cheaper.

But when you start thinking big and growing your operations - you need a team.

There is simply not enough hours in the day.

Yes! If you have the money why not just hire some people to do it for you.
There are some places where you can hire people for cheap!

If you want to build a real business you need a team.
It's all about leverage. Focus on what you do best
and get others to do what they are good at.
The goal should be to have a business that will still
make you money when you are on vacation.
That said you need to start somewhere, so do what you
need to to get started and create systems that you can
have other people do for you. Your job is to create the system
for each area of your business and then fill that roll with someone to do is for you,
or hire people that are smarter than you to solve that problem while you
    focus on your genius.

What else are you doing with your day? Do you have family responsibilities or other outside of the home job? If so, then it might be difficult to find the time daily for all the things you need to do. And, anyway what is the harm with outsourcing some projects? You could hire a virtual assistant to take care of little details and free up your time for more important things. If you were earning so much weekly then you would surely have the money for this.
