You can sell your domain at Sedo.com or afternic.com I have used both of them to sell my few domains.

Are there registration fees for sales on these sites (I am asking in order to avoid any hidden fee)?

For standard domain listing without upgrades you don't pay any upfront fees on most sites.

On sedo I know you can pay extra to get your domain highlighted On the sales list but I wouldn't recommend doing that unless you feel your domain is something special.

Your fees are normally taken when the domain is sold

You can Register on Sedo or afernic for free.
if you have privacy on the domain I would recommend putting your name server over to whichever seller you decide to use so they can verify your account quickly.
You will find the details for the nameserver in the parking section on both sites or just look at the FAQ

Do you mean after a good offer has been made?

As They are going to sell it they will require some kind of verification that the domain is yours.
If the domain is just parked at the moment then I would suggest moving it to sedos Name Server so it can be verified quickly,
However If you don't have privacy set up on the domain they can check your ownership via Whois information and verify that way., but I find that way takes a lot longer

Just a last precision : Can I also register using my "online trading name" and change the dns to Sedos dns (I had few bad experience few months ago seeing my email address and fullname displayed for two years on a site while it should not have been this way)?

Yes you can use your username.
Honestly, the best thing to do is to register with who ever your going to put the Domain up for auction with and then look at the different options for getting the domain listed .

It doesn't matter very much ... "where you sell them" isn't really what it's all about, at all.

What any domain is worth to you depends on your own skills at identifying, approaching and negotiating with the people to whom that domain is potentially worth more than reg-fee because of the nature of their own businesses. If those people don't know that the domain's for sale, it doesn't really matter where you sell them, does it? But if they do, how well you do with any domain-name still isn't going to depend on where you sell it: it's always going to depend on your own skills at identifying, approaching and negotiating with those people.

Don't imagine that that domain-names have some kind of "objective value" and that "collecting" that amount of money when you sell depends on "where you sell". That just isn't so at all. It may help you a lot to sign up to this mailing-list: http://domainprofitsacademy.com/subscribe.html

    It depends.

Most domains are crap, and unsellable. Usually, it is better to let them expire, or at least don't spend money to list them anywhere.

If they are good, and again it is really a small percentage in that category, you can try the above places, as well as domain communities dnforum and namepros. You could also try places like ebay or godaddy auctions.

If you are really inspired, you could set up sales landing pages on them and drive traffic directly to them.

I have read that the percentage are high with sedo. Do you know the range of the percentage? Do I need to sign on with my true name (I am trying to avoid this online)?
