Why did you take the job if YOU don't even know how to drive 200 visitors to the client's site?

I'm not sure how you will provide him SEO if you are asking how to drive traffic. The only ways are link building to achieve better ranking and advertising.

I question you getting this client for 2 reasons:
1. You seem to have agreed to do a job before you fully knew how to do it. What if the guy had asked you to re-roof his house, would you have accepted that job as well just because you knew that it required shingles and nails?
2. Your client has asked you to do something that most of the folks on this forum would love to be able to do and you have accepted the challenge without coaching your client on the difficulty of this task. Getting a 10% return (20 out of 200) is a fairly high rate even for tested campaigns.

That being said, I will offer some guidance as to not seem negative.

1. Develop SEO - Make sure the client site is clean and is viewed well by the search engines
2. Develop Social Media - Make sure that Facebook and Twitter accounts are active and engaged
3. Make sure all local listing sites (i.e. YP, Google Business, etc.) are up to date.
4. Identify the clients target market to determine sites they visit and run ads on those sites
5. Test variations of ads and make sure all are tracked so you know which ones are performing better
6. Make sure ads are pointed at page with a solid call to action to gather the leads.

If you just drive traffic to a main page on a website that doesn't have a call to action and just a small e-mail list sign-up box in the corner you are even less likely to hit the 10% number.

I don't mind someone learning along the way, but it does frustrate me when someone goes in completely blind without a plan and just ends up wasting the clients money. You really need to be clear with the client of what you can do and what a realistic output will be. I have never heard of client getting mad when someone promises a 2% return and then provides 10%. However, you come in and promise 10% and deliver 5% (which is a good number) and they are gong to be upset with you and then talk about how EVERYONE who promises to drive traffic or get leads is just a scam.

Also, you cant tell people how to reply. If they smell a fake they will say so..
