So folks, during your travels, what optin boxes have you seen that have struck as you being well implemented and functional cross platform, browser and OS.

Slide in, popover, etc, what has made you think "nice job" guys, when you've seen it.

Plain and simple opt-in boxes (preferably email address only, not name as well), but prominently incentivized, with a good privacy/spam reassurance.

I'm like so many website visitors: pop-ups and slide-ins and stuff like that drive me away, usually never to return.

I want "personal credibility", not "slickness", to have trust and confidence in someone whose website I'm looking at. Anything that looks to me like "just another marketer" naturally detracts from their credibility. (Seems "natural" to me, anyway).

    • I agree with this. I hate all slideins, especially the ones that think they are clever and hide the "X" so you have to work to close it. Although, I am apt to stay on the site unless the pop-up or slide-in keeps coming back every time I try to navigate the site.

  • All good points Alexa.

    I could have been clearer.

I'm after URL's as examples to view the scripts and hopefully some ingenious implementations that check for mobiles and so forth , as opposed to the field structure and lead magnets.

I've seen some lovely layered effects, and some horrible clunky crap that evaporates off to the side of iphones etc.
