Help on getting traffic

Hey guys,

I need some help on getting people to visit my site. The site is a 100% free site where people can advertise/post and look for jobs. I just don't know how to get traffic.

This is a little different than a blog per se since the users make ALL the content. I just provide the script and template for them.

So it is somewhat hard to use SEO although I did earlier and I'm not sure what kinds of topics to write about if I was doing articles. I was alos curious about social medial optimization too, but I'm not too sure how to maximize it's potential.

Can anyone help me out on different ways or describe in better detail as to how to use previoius mentioned methods to get traffic?

The site is in my sig

Thanks,
Max

  • UGC (user-generated content) is really, really tough. You have to give people a compelling reason to participate, and there's a ton of competition.

I tried a free job board on my site. It didn't work.

Go to ezinearticles dot com, filter to the careers/jobs niche, check out what other authors are writing about, do not copy, just get some ideas to write about. Hope that helps.

A good way to get organic traffic is to develop a newsletter and offer subscriptions to it on your website. Also, blogging, commenting, backlinks, and article marketing.

Max you are doing something proactive right now. By posting links and getting users commenting on it. You may should add rich content to your site. As stated there is massive competition with sites like yours you need to get the ball rolling. No one likes an empty site it looks somewhat deralict as if it is dormat. Also give feedback to the users you do get.

For one thing, your meta-tags are targeting the wrong mindset -
people who have jobs to offer don't need to look very far
for a website to post them on.

On the other hand, it's the people who want to GET a job because
they don't have one who should be your target audience.
The problem with jobless people is they tend not to have
any money, but they'll be way more motivated to check out
    your site than employers are....

Seriously, in this economy if you run any help wanted ad
you'll get buried in inquiries. Employers don't need your
    site - jobless people do.

      Hello,
Keep writing articles. Write your way to success. Go to ezinearticles and look for articles on your topic and see what others are writing to get yourself ideas.

Also you can try squidoo and hubpages. They all require you to write and do work but can pay off if you work them all.

Also if you want to pay for traffic try adwords. You can always stop your campaign if it is too costly for you.

Write, or rewrite, tons of articles on your niche and distribute them through EzineArticles or other article directories. If you need help writing, outsource it. But stay concentrated on your niche and get your articles out there, with links back to your site.
