Sell old personal stories on Kindle+blog = Money

Hey guys I just come out with an Idea last night: I've many old personal funny stories I wrote when I was child, also I've other stories of my friends, brother etc I was keep reading of these funny stories last night lol most of them are hilarious..

I tought why not to make a blog about these funny stories get traffic/possible clients with mail marketing etc and then sell all the stories on the blog on the kindle store?

Could be this a good little business investment? (I take I'll lose only few dollars and some time If It won't work)

It seems profitable. Kindle is always profitable if your book is in the right niche, and if you were to put this in the self improvement niche and you were to as in a nice message in between every story, it would be a good investment and may be a worthwhile business depending on whether you really love writing or not,

    Best of luck.

You just need to format it right, throw on a cover (you can even use amazon's cover creator) and let it loose into cyber space. Doesn't really take much time or cost

Go for it and please report on your success. I honestly think even though kindle is already poplar it is still going to be a game changer for marketers.

hmm I could try however can I try publishing this book on kindle not using my name? because now I'm a starting a little freelancing website with a friend, so I don't want to show my name selling hilarious stories on kindle.. Can I ask to a friend of mine to publish the book with his name and give him % of earnings?

You can use a pen name - lots of people do. I use a different name for each genre of book I publish.

So I can publish many kindle books using different names?? isn't this against amazon kindle TOS? Also when people click on the authour name they will be redirected to the authour's selling page?

    Hi,

I dig the idea. I just published an eBook on Kindle; format it properly according to their guidelines, have a professional cover made, and you'll be off and running.

    All the best.

Yeah go for it - why not?

Also, stories and expiriences like that have excellent places in Sales Copies - I don't know if you write them, but if you do: real stories which grip users attention is a key part of a good copy - just sayin'

You have to focus on the right stories. Not all stories have the same interest level. Thankfully, human beings are quite predictable so you shouldn't have a tough time zeroing in on the types of stories that can sell well.

You could bypass the blog idea by directly soliciting stories from others and then compile these stories into a Kindle ebook. You might still need an email list, though many forums will allow you to advertise your Kindle ebook directly. Though this sounds like a really unique idea. I have not seen anyone else publishing funny stories like you are talking about.

Hmm you're right, but with a blog you get more traffic, also I can sell tshirt too and other affiliate programs.. I tought it would be great to write funny stories on the blog then sell best stories (voted by people on the blog) on the kindle store, I think giving fist people quality of content is best thing to do to sell more..

You would find the humor because they are your experiences - and your stories. Would someone else find them funny?

An older lady who owns a feed store where I buy pet supplies gave me a copy of the book she wrote with her sister. It's as unfancy as a book can be - they paid to have it published and wrote it originally so their big extended family could have the stories.

The title is "Walk Through Childhood Softly" and it's a collection of small reminisces and stories of children living in the south in the 1940's. The grammar is spotty and the spelling occasionally wrong - but these ladies are natural story tellers and the simple stories in the book are fun to read.

Meant for family - the book got local media attention and ended up selling out and they had to print more! She gave me one of the last copies and I treasure it.

So - yes - you can use childhood experiences to write something worth selling....I'm not convinced you can used childish writing for the same purpose. Test it.
