Selling E Books online. How to get started

I have an E Book I wish to sell online and I have a website set up with the details and all the back end. I am just looking for methods to get traffic to this site and would prefer organic ways of doing this. The E Book is about a management technique for a medical condition that would appeal to a broad audience world wide.

Any suggestions would be great on how to create some buzz and start generating sales.

If you want 'organic' ways to reach your traffic goals you'll have to focus on SEO and Social Media Marketing... The results WON'T be instant though...
If I were you I'd invest a bit in PPC and see how your eBook sells first!
    Good luck

I must say your topic is great..any way have you choose any market place to sell your ebook. If yes then great and if not, well then I would like to suggest you some market places like
    warrior plus
    clickbank
    jvzoo

I guess this procedure is also beneficial..Best of luck..

It takes a lot of patience but you'll definitely get that broader audience if you work on your SEO. You might want to try Bing Ads or Google AdWords. They've been doing updates every now and then maybe it will bring you more potential buyers if you pay just a little for advertisement. But if you still want the organic way of getting customers, work on your SEO. Good luck!!

Publishing a Kindle ebook is an easy way to get your information out there in front of the buying public and this cuts out the need for having a secondary site. There is a built in audience of buyers on Kindle and the search function is readily available. Your Kindle ebook is likely to rank highly in Google search, more so than a blog about your ebook. And, there are forums on Kindle available to authors to promote their ebooks.

Kindle would be your best option. Now as far as another marketplace, I have heard that FB allows you to start up your own store now. I'm not sure it would work (never done it before) but researching it I have hears people say that you can list Amazon products... so why not kindle books?

Then maybe do a little FB advertising to send people to your store.

        I'm also puzzled.

I have a couple of guesses (but neither with any real confidence) ...

        (i) A moderator felt that were already plenty of other threads discussing that (perhaps even "on the first page of that forum's listings") and that it would have been more appropriate either to look through them, or try the forum's search function, rather than starting another thread asking a familiar question(?) ... or ...

(ii) A moderator felt that the thread really should have been posted in the Review Forum (less likely - and I don't think that's correct, anyway, myself, though it's perhaps debatable).

        But not clear, I agree.

The thing is: the moderators have too much to do to let people know the reasons for every decision they make, and some things are "judgment calls" anyway.

        Sorry if I wasn't helpful.

The first probably sound like the most likely.
          I appreciate your response.

If it has been covered in other threads they will close it. If it is not related to making money they will close it. If they don't like it. Who knows?

Write shorter versions or 'teaser' versions of your ebooks and submit them to tons of sites like Scribd. Also, you can create videos out of the reports and submit those to video sites. You don't have to do all this yourself. You can hire a virtual assistant to do it for you for $5 an hour.

Would've been nice if you were selling the cure lol. Not laughing at the condition that real people are going thru, i'm just laughing at the medical industry. But that's a totally different story. My Latuda and Zyprexa has changed my life for the better. Anyway.....

You gotta be where the prospects are: blogs, forums, google, popular sites, youtube, social media (for support). Go to these places and interact. And if you can do some paid advertising, do that too. Make sure you get their contact info (squeeze page) so that you can follow up on them.

Where do your prospective customers "hang out."

Is there a place where they congregate online?

    I'd start there...

Define your target market and what motivates them and then put your solution in front of them...

Create a youtube channel and start uploading videos where you give tips and advice to solving problems within the niche. You can play the numbers game by uploading as many videos as you can, or you can focus on promoting each video one by one.

Put it on kindle then link your payment button from the site there. Then promote the hell out of the site. Depending on how dedicated you are to this one book I'd build even more sites and hammer them all with promotion. I have 5 kindle books making me a good monthly income using this method.

Any suggestions would be great on how to create some buzz and start generating sales.

You can create simple ebooks and put them on the kindle platform funneling them back to your main offer.

I would suggest outsourcing this if you have the money for it. You can make double the money, selling it on kindle for a few bucks and then getting them to the bigger 'version' on you own website.

You can also use FB ads, they work great. I just talked to someone last night who ran a campaign and got a 1700% ROI pretty dang awesome.

I myself have used fb ads and the most ROI I ever was able to squeeze was close to 300. But still 3x my initial investment thats what I like to see!

If this a book that could be sold on amazon, go with that.

This is a free book from amazon showing you how to format for kindle: Building Your Book for Kindle - Kindle edition by Kindle Direct Publishing. Arts & Photography Kindle eBooks @ Amazon.com.

Amazon will send traffic to your book with little effort on your part.

    Engagement = buzz.

I'll boil down one of my blueprints for you; to say it works extremely well would be an understatement of grand proportion.

    1. Create a Facebook group and community.
    2. Grow both.
    3. 10% squeeze page advertising via updates; 90% engaging posts (with viral potential).
    4. List = 7 day free course.
    5. Course monetized with eBook(s)

Simple. Easy to outsource. The traffic is killer (quality & volume).

    Rinse-repeat for different products.

I agree with masterreseller and tvon, both. Putting your ebook on kindle should help you and youtube might if you use the right keywords.

Other than that, I think google ppc will probably be the next best bet. You have to admit, somebody looking for answers on a medical topic will simply input their question into google.

They might try a medical site, too, but they will google it at some point.

A google ad is a good place to start.

Writing a good book and just putting it up on kindle select has been great for me. Then you can do promotion and ads linking back to the book for extra promo. Select will handle the bulk of sales and your extra efforts will secure sales long term

Have you thought about contacting popular blogs and websites and asking them to interview you about the book and to review the book.
