Question For the List Builders

I've never built a list, but I get the gist of it. I can search the forum for specifics. However, I'm getting ready to start a list for a political campaign. Can you think of any reason why this would be any different than normal list building and marketing?

A few years ago, Paul Myers wrote an excellent piece on the marketing of the presidency. Hunt around and see if you can find it. It's worth the search.

I signed up for the Obama/Whitehouse emails a few years ago and was amazed to see how regularly they send out updates. It's not a spam fest, but regular as clockwork. Very informative emails for anyone interested in goings on at the Whitehouse and certainly the emails are worth studying.

Haha. Yeah the frequency of the political emails is INSANE.

They are the most aggressive marketers on the planet... And if they ever get your phone number forget it.

(I tracked Romney/Obama campaigns and they were both overly aggressive).

And I'd say it's exactly the same. Except for pressing for a sale... You're promoting for a vote.

    (Same thing really?)

I wish you nothing but the best.

    :]
