Hello, if I'm promoting a mini site with my own info products how many customer reviews would be necessary in order to promote a product in the $47-$97 range? Just in your opinions. Do I need to offer bonus products as well?. I'm just hoping to get anywhere from a 1-3% conversion rate. I know other factors matter as well, but I was just wondering how many reviews are feasible to do well in order to sell info products in this price range?-thanks

It varies enormously, according to all kinds of things.

Off the top of my head, I'd say 2 or 3 good ones at $47 and about 5 would be good, at $97. (I think a similar thing applies to "testimonials" as to "copy" in the sense that the answer's "as long/many as it takes to handle all the reasonably foreseeable objections and achieve the necessary degree of credibility".)

One (or a maximum of two) highly relevant bonus(es) can help. More than that can detract. (I speak as a ClickBank affiliate who won't dream of promoting products with 6-7 bonuses of tangential relevance, because they look "desperate", and I know from long, multi-niche experience that they almost certainly won't convert my traffic as well.)

The ultimate answer, with all these and other things, is to "test and tweak" and see what converts best?

Offering just two or three extremely high value, high quality bonuses to your main item is far better than giving pages of cheap, rehashed/outdated bonuses.

I use to sell a $197 product with no customer reviews at first, I sold over 100 of them the first week without a single review.

After the first 100 sales I had about 15 or 20 really good reviews and when I added them the conversion rate went up a little. But you don't need them at first.

As long as you are putting the right offer in front of the right audience you'll be fine.

I went on to sell over 900 more copies at $197 after I added the reviews but the conversion rate only went up about a half of percent with the testimonials

Another thing I would do is offer some type of consulting services with purchase. This would ensure that you can follow up personally with your customer after the sale, even beyond generic email marketing. That will give you the chance to make more sales. Also, this type of upsell item could be very appealing for a new person who doesn't understand how to use the products you are selling and wants to be hand held through the process.
