How To See Google As It Is In USA?

The problem: when assessing the "heaviness" of a keyword and looking at the sponsored links in Google, I see it differently (here in Europe) than I'd see it if I was in USA.

The question: how am I to get my eyeballs on the US Google? I tried proxy sites, but they all give me very different results. (Tried spockproxy, proxify, workforme, 2rs)

Any ideas?

Add "&gl=us" to the end of the URL for the SERP.

The above suggestion of adding &gl=us to the URL of the results seems to be working for me. Nice suggestion!

If you use this URL, Google, you'll get results without geographical weighting - in other words for the US..

Two very fast and free proxies are Hotspot Shield, which is a VPN to proxy, meaning all your Net programs are encrypted and passed through a server in New York. The other is Ultra Surf which is very fast and passes through Palo Alto, California.

  • Not everyone in the USA sees the exact same results on a search either... but it does create an interesting dilemma for people in foreign countries whose primary audience is in another country. How to verify search ranking in their target country.

I tried this "http://www.google.com/webhp" as suggested above and it returned the same results as google.com and I'm USA based. Suppose that is the best suggestion of the above.

Now I'm as confused as ever!
These all give me very different results, I mean from 0 results to full page results for the same keyword, depending on whether I use ...webhp, Ad Preview Tool, Google Global or suggested proxy sites. The most worrying thing though is that results vary on repeated search using the same websites!

Is there a way out of this maze?
