Advice Using Article Directories

How should one use an article directory? Slightly confused.

Can I submit dupe content from an article I posted on hubpages, and then include the source in the article text to gain backlinks? Is that how people are using them? Or are they using them the same way I use hubpages to list articles?

Slightly confused.

    Opinions vary.
You can submit duplicate content, I always make sure i rewrite it though. I have always submitted unique content to the article directories.

People have different strategies with their articles.

A common strategy is to create an original article on a high PR article site. At the end of your article you link to either a squeeze page, your own website, or an affiliate page.

Then, you take this article and spin it slightly and submit it to lesser PR sites. You use the same link at the end of your article on these sites as well to help promote your site. That is, you're not using them to backlink to your original article.

    Hope this helps!

If you don't have a website you can use article directories to post content - but you have to get back links to your article to get pr and traffic.

There are a dozen better wats to build back links so I dont think article directories are the best just for that.
