Linking from Social Sites/Blogs?

Got an e-mail to day about a new exit pop creator that looks pretty cool. The idea is to post your own link to your blog in a thread comment on platforms such as FB, message boards etc. then when the user leaves that site they get hit with the pop up opt in form for a freebie.

Would this really work? I would think your comment would get taken down or moderated for approval before it actually goes live.

    I've never heard of or seen such a pop-up and doubt one exists that would work on Facebook and most major platforms.

    If it does work, and that's a big if, it's only going to work for a short period of time before all of the major platforms figure out a way to disable it. It's also a surefire way to get your account banned from those platforms for violating their terms of service.

      I think you misunderstood the exit pop only shows when the user leaves the page you sent them to through the link. They would have to click the link and go to the site.

      Comment on a page about baseball with link ~~> Your Baseball Blog ~~> Exit pop when user leaves.
