  • Zliv44,

What do you think about direct linking your attention-grabbing and enticing Bing ads to your compelling opt-in offer in a page on your site with your Bing remarketing / retargeting code?

Don't you want to get the names / emails / mobile numbers of your target audience, and to also continue displaying your Bing ads to those who don't get your opt-in offer (or other opt-in offers in the future)?

Don't you want to build your subscriber list and provide them with beneficial follow-up content and recommend your affiliate JVZoo products (and other affiliate products) to them in the future?

I use bing ads to test all of my products in my funnels first. There in no reason learning to use a paid traffic source like bing and a affiliate product to make straight money. Just today everyone talks about leveraging your marketing efforts by list building thats all but there is a lot more to it than that...

What are you running for conversions in your campaigns if I can ask? You should shoot for at least 4% A lot of time I will run campaigns with a 15% plus conversion rates.

Do you understand about breaking each keyword down into adgroups within your campaign and having only relevant exact match keywords? You could have an adgroup with just 2 or 3 keywords in it. You then build your ads around your adgroups or keywords and that my friend is the secret to optimizing your traffic and paying less than 20 cents per click for some pretty good keyword phrases.

I consider myself an expert in bing ads at this point! If you need some assistance please feel free to PM my and we can set something up to talk. Always start your budgets small. Either 5 dollars or 10 dollars a day. Always set up your tracking... I can show you some numbers in my account that will blow you away.... yeah seriously

There is a time and place for direct linking, paying for traffic and linking to an affiliate offer is not that situation, I'd highly advise against it unless you love wasting money to build someones else's business.

This is a case where you'd want to build your own list

PPC is one of the fastest ways to lose a large amount of cash... most people have no idea of the EPC of an offer, or the EPC of an offer with the traffic you intend to send to it.

Nicholas said it right... use PPC to build a list.

And that's presuming you know your conversion rates, and have some idea of how many opt-ins you can convert to a sale.

Otherwise, you're just throwing your money away.

If your products are on JVZoo and if you've integrated your autoresponder, you'll be building a buyer's list with those that actually buy. But as has been stated above, you can build a larger list by sending them to a opt in squeeze page first, ask for the email address only and then send them on to the affiliate link.

If they buy great. they'll be on one of two segmented lists. One for Buyers and one for the free gift seekers. That is if you have a different campaign for the JVZoo buyer and another for the Opt In Squeeze page.

I have a bonus page from the affiliate that I can drive traffic to and I have a free account from mailchimp but I don't know how to implement the opt in form to make it flow nicely with the website or how to switch out the download buttons on the site with the opt in form or how to have the opt in form redirect to the offer.

Think of how much money you have to spend in order to get one sale.
If that is higher than the sale you are not getting profit.

Its not a good business model.

Everything is worth testing, but direct linking is generally not going to work very well.

Send the traffic to a landing page to capture contact information so you can continue to market to the lead. Generally, pre-selling an offer is going to work MUCH better than cold traffic to a sales page.

Additionally, if I've paying per lead, I want to be able to continually sell to that person as opposed to a one shot, pray and spray effort.

    Thanks,

    Josh

First, congrats on using paid advertising, it's the way to go.

Secondly, as warriors already said, you need to send people to a landing page and capture their email address. Like this you will increase your visitor value. It's really important that you know your metrics, test, track and tweak.

Make sure you build that list first, even if you just break even (or loose) in the beginning. Plus create your own Front End product, it's not that difficult. since you pay for advertising, you have some dollars to spend, you can get an ebook or audio or video tutorial created for you in your niche if you don't want to create it yourself.

There's no doubt that you can make some money with direct linking, it's much better to promote affiliate programs in the backend.

It's the same as trying to run the bath by opening the tap fully and not bothering to put the plug in the hole first: you'd just be losing nearly all the water.

It's something that I'm really very happy for all my competitors to do.

It's so contrary to the fundamental principles of successful affiliate marketing that it's one of the best ways you'll find of stacking the deck against yourself.

To earn significant money from affiliate marketing, you need to do three things ...

    (i) Keep your potential customers returning to the sales page (because not so many people buy anthing much at their first visit to a sales page!);

    (ii) Make increasing sales (ideally at progressively higher prices) to the same "captive audience" who regularly rely on and trust your recommendations - in successful affiliate marketing, most of the long-term income comes from that;

(iii) Establish the credibility and trust necessary to do both the above by earning's people respect as a provider of niche-related information.

Without building lists, of course, you can't do any of the three and you'd just be throwing away almost all the traffic you ever generate that doesn't buy anything immediately.

What kind of way to run a business would that be?

For most people, most of the time, it's just about as simple as that, overall.

These three threads are more informative ...

Is it a good idea to spend some time on building a mailing list ?

Yeah, maybe for testing purposes you can argue for a momentary time.

But your List is a TRUE Asset.

How ? Because much like a Home, you can actually put a specific price on it that people would be willing to buy from you !

Probably the BEST analogy I've seen anywhere, but especially as applies to this situation.

very similar to "pissing up a rope", but much nicer.

I've had lots of success direct linking as an affiliate, but as many have already eluded to - once that visitor comes and goes, if you don't make the sale it's wasted.

And in most cases, your conversions will be less than 1%.

In my case and many who do what I do, we can justify it with ROI.

But at the same time, the best thing to do to have an actual business is to build yourself an asset - your list.

Direct linking is always a bad idea. Just gather their email address build you list and market some OTO's to them before the thank you page.
