Seeking advice on online marketing course

Im looking to invest 1-2 thousand euros into a course to learn online marketing.

I will really appreciate all input

- especially from warriors who have hired people from a variety of such courses and can point out ones that have proven results.

1 -2k euros is a lot IMO but first you need to know first what kind of Internet Marketing you really want to pursue.

IM has a lot of different methods and most of them are legit and will make you money if you work for it.

First Niche then Method once you decided those I would suggest you find yourself a mentor instead of a course since you can afford to do that.

When choosing a mentor you have to pick the one that is inline with the type of business you want to build. Each coach has different Style on making money so If you don't like what he is teaching you will end up just wasting that money.

On a forum like this, full of people trying to sell you stuff, a question like this...

...usually ends up with a heap of private messages from people giving you countless ways to spend that money... on things they are selling.

I would never look at things like that anyway. Why choose your course based on how much money you have in your account? Go and start learning and following the right people and chances are you won't need to spend hardly any of that money to learn what you need to know. Leave the money for the implementation.

If you ask people how you can spend x amount of dollars they are always going to tell you a million ways you can spend it... but nothing that will necessarily benefit YOU.

WillR is very right, excellent advice.

Do you think these Internet marketing course writers write their courses so you succeed as a primary purpose?

No, the primary purpose is to get them money and status.

If I buy them, I buy them as a blueprint.

The impression that you get from the sales copy is usually very different than the impression you get after receiving newly bought "guaranteed easy way to..."

Look, I will give you some examples:

      1. There was one seller selling WSO on how to launch your WSO if you are a complete newbie and make tons of money EASY AND FAST ways. In his product, however, he explained that if you are a newbie, you need to find a joint venture partner. But if you are a newbie, it will be extremely hard and nearly impossible, so you have to get status. Where is FAST AND EASY way here?

      2. There was a copywriter selling his services posting in threads that no legitimate copywriter would ever write a copy for under $500.00. But at the same time, he had a $299.00 special, claiming that he is a legitimate, experienced copywriter whose copies get crazy conversion rates

      3. There was a person who was asking "how do I drive traffic to my website" selling a professionally-looking course on "how to get 100's of thousands of visitors to your website fast and free"...

I hope you start getting an idea here.

What about big names? From my experience, it is pretty much same stuff just done more professionally.

It is all aimed towards people who want to believe in what they want to believe rather than a reality.

My best successes came after I just launched things myself, trusting myself and taking relentless action.

My usual reply to these threads is something like: "I have just the thing, it's only $1,999.00!"

Well good on you for wanting to learn but im sure you can learn for a lot less. I reckon you can learn and earn for less than $300. Do you know what area you want to learn?

      Intrigued

      Best of luck

    Two words: War Room.

I'm all for investing in education and I applaud your commitment to learning. However, I would honestly start out with a War Room membership, and devote your time between there and here and other MMO forums. Online marketing is a big field. I suggest you begin with the above advice and just get a feel for the general subject. When you know where you're then like to specialize, go ahead and invest in your education on that subject. Think of it like going to university. You might start out by learning economics, a general subject, and later go on to specialize in investment banking or marketing.

I've spent unknown THOUSANDS of dollars on courses and programs over the years. I can safely say that I have learned very little from them. Most of my knowledge and know-how came from talking to the right people or trial and error. My best advice? Save your money. Learn how to create a targeted free report. Build a squeeze page. Drive targeted traffic to it. Build a high quality list. Foster a relationship with it. Promote targeted products. You can learn how to do ALL of that by reading posts on this forum... and without spending a PENNY!!!

While you were spending those thousands, and learning very little, at what point did you realize it was a fruitless exercise? Was it a particular course or one day you just felt enough was enough?

There are plenty of free resources out there that will give you just as much information to get you started in a positive direction. Take hubspot's inbound marketing course completely free. Scour copyblogger for all sorts of relevant information. Find the people whom are doing it right, learn from them, then decide what more advanced skills you do not have and then MAYBE put money into learning those. Learning should be more of a time investment than a money investment... put the money toward actually starting your business.
