You're launching a new site... how are you planning to promote it?

{side note} I forgot what the heck I came here for ... got involved with another thread practicing with a fancy signature tool the OP recommended. Am I easily distracted, do you think?

Anyway, here's my real question and I hope someone who has gone through the process can provide a detailed plan of attack.

I'm about to launch a new PLR web site... 2 actually. In the past when opening a new site, I haven't thought much about the promotion side until well after it was launched. And then, it was a scattered approach that didn't really bring good results... because the site AND the marketing ended up being disorganized and unfocused.

This time, I have a much more organized plan for the sites themselves and before I waste time , I want to put together a well-organized promotion campaign that will be the most effective.

We know there are things like article marketing, social bookmarking, ad swaps and the like, but if you don't have a plan, you can jump around from one to the other and perhaps discover well down the road that not all of them are going to help much.

So how do you determine the best promotional plan for a new site, when it's a new niche / theme and you have no market tests yet to refer to?

Of course, you want the site to get off the ground quickly and start paying for itself equally fast and you can only do that with the right marketing.

If you were putting together a marketing campaign for a new PLR site, how would you proceed? (or for any other kind of new site)

If you needed it to start making money in a hurry, how would you make it happen?

Thanks.

Sylvia

A WSO would get it started, but I'm talking about a plan of action.

For instance, I can put a notice in my sig as one small piece of that plan. What else?

Do you go through the marketing options and "pick 5" at random? How do you decide which 5, or 10, methods to use for maximum results? There must be some that work best during a site launch.

As an example, I could go with:
      1. article marketing
      2. site submission
      3. social bookmarking
      4. forum participation
      5. blog posting
But right off, I question whether social bookmarking would be a good choice for a PLR site. Site submission takes time, as much as 6 mos to a year to get listed. Article marketing is debatable for this purpose.

JVs might work, if I could come up with a suitable swap.

Yes, I could just get started (as another Warrior once recommended in another thread) but my time is limited. I'm doing all the content for the PLR sites. I don't have time to waste on marketing plans that aren't going to be very effective.

I need the best, most effective marketing methods that will begin to work (bring results) right away or in a few months, not a year down the road. I need methods that can be evaluated quickly based on results.

And I know some methods are just better in general, and I'm hoping someone knows which they are.

I don't see press releases in your list, and I don't see contests or giveaways, or JV, either.
