Banner Ads Purchase Question

Hi All,
Does anyone have a list of independent websites that sell banner ad space. I'm not interested in going with large banner ad networks. They're a little too cumbersome for me. I'd really prefer independent sites like John Chow.com etc..

Thanks for any help.

It depends on your niche Type in Google the keywords related to your niche and see if the top results offer advertising opportunities.

This is what you should do...

You can find some really affordable banner ads by reaching out to webmasters.

Do a Google search for sites in your niche and reach out to the owner. I normally look at the whois data and email and/or call them on the phone.

Very rarely do people make personal connections in this day and age, and you can get some really good deals going if you're willing to do it.

I've negotiated banners on sites with tons of traffic for $20-$50.

      Thanks,

      Josh

If you're seeking small banner ad deals, the best thing you can do is scout around for a website you'd be interested in advertising with.

PS: Some of the best recurring commission I've ever had came from "smaller" website banner ads, precisely like the one you mentioned. :]

What do you consider a large banner ad network?

There are several that aren't as cumbersome as Google or Bing, but provide solid advertising opportunities at reasonable cost.

But I've found, as others have mentioned, that dealing with owners or webmasters of sites directly could get you the best deal in most instances.

Don't be scared of the bigger networks because they give you the ability to split test creatives whereas most (or all) independent webmasters and site owners don't...

...unless you're using a 3rd party ad server service like Sitescout.
