You really can catch more bees with honey

I moved to Nashville TN a few years ago and you know when you move some where you need to find a new hair dresser, doctor, and dentist. Well I hate going to the dentist because when I was a child a dentist forgot to numb my mouth before filling a cavity. I still remember the pain, so I try to avoid going to the dentist.

Back to the point, when I moved I never got a new dentist, but I like having a nice smile and I knew it had to be done sooner or later. So I bit the bullet and got online searching for sedation dentistry nashville tn. I chose my dentist because of his website and made my appoitment.

I could tell the website was created by Internet Marketers so that told me he was willing to invest in creating a good first impression and thats why I chose him over the other dentists in the area.

When my session ended I asked him who did his website and complimented him on his good sense to have a strong online presence.

He was shocked until I told him what I did for a living and then he started peppering me with questions, by the end of our conversation I had a new consulting client willing to pay $100 an hour to deal with the two companies he works with and help him get a more central organized online marketing campaign. He also wants to up date his website and the chances are good he will have me redesign it into my CMS system because my solution gives him control.

The whole point of this story is I was not after a sale I simply gave him a compliment that was sincere about his solid business sense and in return I got a top paying client.

Would you mind posting his website? I'm interested in taking a look. Pretty far away from my area, but I'm always interested!

Isn't this called networking or 'taking an interest in those around you'?

It is surprising how often someone you take an interest in will take an interest in you.

You might not like what I say - but I believe it.

      Great tip.

Most people can get a whole pile of offline business clients just by being nice, asking questions and actually talking to the business owners of places where they already spend money.

Was your mouth numbed up when you had the conversation because that could have been entertaining..."conflabalaashuns on yooor web presents"

      Kindest regards,

That is so true. I think, offline marketing is still as successful as before. But the tricky part is to actually find potential clients.

Excellent post. Sometimes we get uptight when it comes to business. Especially when it comes to promotion. The best promotion in the world is being yourself and treating people the way you'd want to be treated---and spreading compliments where they are due--without the flattery. People generally can tell when you're sincere.
