Would Love a Landing Page Review

Just finished crafting a landing page that needs some love.
Its a product review for a weight loss program.
I made it a post on my blog because I wanted people to see my opt in as well.

I would love any constructive criticism you could give me.

    Hi Joshua,
First impression, I like it. clean, professional and not internet markety looking. I would move recent posts over to the 'recommend' column, the white space there looks like a mistake. The video is GREAT!
I like the green highlight color, but the one around your photo is reallllly green. Not sure what can be done, but even if a dashed/dotted border around the box or a gradient background would be nice.
If there is any way to make the sign up box more prominent, again maybe a color border or a colored "get it here!" button?
I actually signed up for your newsletter, something I rarely do.
for me as a Internet marketing designer, It's a refreshing thing to see something not in your face, kudos on the decision.

Thanks for the helpful advise. I defitily tried to keep it personal looking while still being "professional". I may move the recommened column, but in time there will be more links there. Also more sidebar content in general.
I'll take a look at that green box. Its part of the theme but Im good with that stuff. I was thinking of adding a picture to the opt in to draw the eyes a little more. Thanks for signing up. Let me know how you like the content. Its my first autoresponder campaign so I'm nervous about how it will go!

This is a great-looking theme. Makes use of the available space well... Only thing that might help are a border around the optin box and maybe a small header logo... You've given me a few ideas for my site...thanks!

I like it.. it's a little 'busier' than I would personally go with but no reason why it shouldn't be fine.

One thing I would definitely do is put an ecover book image (like one of those blue ones you have at the bottom of the review) right on top of the opt in form... that's the most important part of the page above the fold so you want the eyes jumping over there and going 'hey look it's a book, and for free, awesome' etc.

Plus the rest of the page is understated and elegant enough that an image there should have a very nice effect.

I'm going to go with the constructive criticism, the site is nice, but it is not a landing page.

As a visitor I am confused where to fill my information, where to go to get my book, and I get frustrated and leave.

You need more call-to-action (that is if your creating a landing page)

If this is your website it is great, but if this is your landing page, I would reconsider the design, here are is a sample of landing page that shows strong conversion rates

Thanks for your comments however, its not a landing page for the opt in, its a landing page for the product.

    Hi

    Some comments:
    1. You can always replace the report link with the opt in form itself, and add a picture of the report so that it catches attention
    2. Cloak your affiliate link to make it look more professional
Other than that the content looks fine and the layout seems great!

  • i agree with LMC, you need a landing page for your landing page.
i have two recommendations for you.
the free one is in my sig file below.
then there is Profit Matic and they have excellent templates, graphics, etc for a nominal monthly fee. I have seen a lot of websites like Profit Matic but they have the best resources, easy navigation, etc. A very professional site that will help you make great landing pages on the fly.

      Fantastic video

My first impression of your page was that it was OK, nothing wrong. I played the video and laughed my socks of then scrolled further down the page right past your opt in box!

The video is powerful. People like to laugh but you may lose some of them if they do what I did and just scroll down after the vid.

My suggestion would be to place your opt in box below the video and maybe use arrows/pointers or something to direct your visitors to the video.

Just my two cents worth, I'm no expert.

"I'm Joshua G. Your Weight Loss Program Expert. I help readers develop their own weight loss programs using my blog and subscriber list. I also review existing programs to help readers make the best choice for them."

    Hey Joshue,

    I would change this paragraph.
State more benefits for the reader+"I help readers develop their own weight loss programs using my blog and subscriber list" just doesn't make any sense to me.

Thanks for the help folks. My blog looks better then ever.

I would have like more pointers about the product review itself, but you guys helped me out a ton anyway.

    Hi Joshua

    1. Make another link to the offer. The only link I could find was if you click on the image. Correct me if I'm wrong.
    2. You'll probably get much more conversions if you share your own personal story (or someone else's close to you) about using the product.

Another thing, try the following. If your going to drive traffic through PPC than make videos in which you really give useful content. Then just mention that in this and that product one can find even more cool things, that go beyond what they just learned from you. Then you put the link below the video and a transcript of everything being said in the video.

Also, encourage comments - because they show social proof of your blog, your recommendations and the offer itself.

    Take care,

Yea I'll definitely throw another link in there mid way down the review. God call. The problem with sharing a success story is that anyone from my opt in knows my personal weight loss story already and it has nothing to do with the programs. However, I get a lot of credit though several other means.
