A site without Google is making me sales.

I was very confused lately and put it down to clickbank acting up again.

I had a site sandboxed some time ago. Google ranks it over 350 for every keyword.

Yet i noticed a few sporadic sales totalling up to $130 since christmas. I couldn't figure out where they came from and decided it was clickbank being crazy.

with all the bing hype and an article on how good conversion is on bing from webpronews I thought about setting up PPC from bing and would test it on this old site.

To my surprise my site is listed high up on bing and i finally realised where the sales and numerous hops per day have been coming from. Yahoo/bing/live have been giving me all these hops and sales.

I don't have any analytics for this site which is why i haven't noticed where they have been coming from.

Interesting though, there's definitely more to making sales than google.

Bing huh? Guess it is time to start paying a bit more attention to it.

Thought it was another passing thing.

Thats quite good Matt. You've just proven in a single post that being listed in Google does not guarantee success, nor does being delisted from their index guarantee epic failure, like most would believe.

You can get out of the sandbox by simply waiting or you can be more proactive by adding more unique content to your site and getting more relevant backlinks to your site.

You should also consider posting some unique content on eZine Articles, Hubpages, Squidoo and the other top content sharing sites. You can leverage their high page ranks and daily traffic to get greater visibility in the SERPs since your main is delisted for now.

I check my stats daily. One of my sites absolutely took off like a rocket in Bing yesterday. I was shocked (but pleased).

Well, that is interesting. It would be good in general to see Google have some serious competition. I know I see decent traffic from Yahoo on one site which still surprises me.
    Maybe Bing will become big.

Yeah, Google is important but not all. I have made a few hundreds dollars with just a YouTube video advertising a product (the Clickbank referal link was in the video description).

      Wow just a youtube video..

But wait..How many friends do you have. Do you already have a lot of views for the video..How many...

This is because I studied video marketing a few months back and got my feet wet only to realize that in order to be successful in youtube you must have several thousand views..a few views won't be helpful..

But if anybody is interested in video marketing here are some points to note:

      1. Submitting youtube videos does not guarantee overnight success
      2. To have/get views you must still market your videos and this is so that people will actually discover that your videos exist..
      3. Make friends in youtube..so that people would know you exist.

otherwise no matter how many hundreds of videos you upload..it will still take a long time for people to discover them on their own..and that is a loooooooong looooonnnnnnnng time..
