GUIDE: how to make a free domain for a squeeze page/newsletter and use it on youtube videos

If it helps you... I did this in another thread but wanted to elaborate .First, I am way new and lost. Perhaps my squeeze page sucks and I'll take any advice and will likely use it. I use advice.

Secondly, this is clever and free...

Problem:
I wanted to have a subdomain that I could use for a squeeze page. I wanted to do it all via wordpress as I understand that platform best.
I also wanted a da domain n just for my newsletter, but I didn't want to pay for that as maybe it'll change some day.

Solution:
This is 100% free assuming you pay for hosting.. And quite easy.
Used a plugin called he ultimate coming soon page and it allowed me to create the landing page.
Also used a plugin called youtube short code and pontoons slightly edited to take their free branding off the video.

Here we go.

First, set a sub domain up if you wish to do this with your domain.
Google will allow sub domains to be linked in youtube videos so long as you verify it all...
For this I used free.stevencampbellfitness.com

Now set up your free domain.
Btw, it blows me away how many people do not know about the tk registrar. It's free and the only issues is that probably it doesn't google rank well and also facebook asks for a captcha when you first share it.

1. Go to google and type in the term tk domain name

2. Register the domain. Yes it is .tk register for a year and yes you can renew it infinitely

3. IMPORTANT HERE ~~~ you are tempted to enter DNS but stop and do NOT
3a) forward the domain to google.com - this step is a bug. DNS won't work here at this point don't bother

4. Now login using whatever you want to (facebook, google email etc)

5. Login and get to the option for name servers etc and here is where you want to enter the DNS

6. Go back to your hosting cpanel and install whatever you want (Wordpress, FTP directory etc) and in this instance use the above domain.

I did this
I own stevencampbellfitness.com
I warned to have free.stevencampbellfitness.com forward to a squeeze page and wanted to use wordpress.
I forwarded to scffreefitnessreport.tk and installed the ultimate coming soon page, used the elements I wanted and created a squeeze page (I also used youtube short code to autoplay youtube)

Now I can have a domain related to the newsletter, and can change the forwarding of the sub domain anytime I want.

Now when you go to my subdomain it redirects you to the landing page ok the tk server...or I can give the real tk name it, either way I have a permanent landing page and can assign it it's own getresponse opt in to track it.

Bonus
Doing it this way allows you to use the sub domain on a youtube channel where you verified your site.

Annotation call outs. Nice!

That's a nifty little trick. I like it. Comes in handy not just for squeeze pages but a very interesting traffic generation trick I know. I'm glad I ran into this thread.
