What happened to Warrior member signatures?

In the past, I saw a lot of people have signatures. Not anymore...

Does Google decrease website ranking for forum signatures or Warrior Forum blogs linking to your website?

I haven't notice any problem with signatures yet.

I think some Warriors believe that having a signature doesn't really make any difference. That's what I gleaned from the discussion in this thread. Some also think that we shouldn't rely on our signatures to get traffic to our sites. I still prefer having a signature though.

Does Google penalize websites for signatures or links from Warrior Forum blogs?

Never realize it. Its won't harm my website ranking in search engines as the signature links have nofollow attribute.

I'm not an expert, but Google's quality guidelines lists "forum comments with optimized links in the post or signature" as one of the examples of link schemes that may violate the guidelines.

Maybe it's okay to put a link back to your site in your signature as long as you don't stuff your signature with keywords. That's how I understand it.

My understanding in latest SEO talk is that Google doesn't really place any value on backlinks anymore coming from forums like they used to. So as cyberdenizen pointed out, the penalities will only happen if you have tons different signatures placed on different forums that have similar keywords for anchors - which is a form of over-optimisation. Then you will have problems with Google.

I think the issue with the signature not showing is more to with WF doing something in the back-end recently that switched off the signature by default .The backlink you get on here is actually a nofollow anyway so I have no idea why they decided to do this.

There are a lot of warriors here who just don't want to have any links in their signature.

There are others who do add one but it gets deleted because most people have an affiliate link in it and it's not allowed.
