Would you have any interest in this?

I'm thinking about making a site/forum just for discussing business models. Personally, I love brainstorming about business models. Wondering if there would be much interest in this?

Instead of a forum maybe just a facebook group.

Although personally I only express my business ideas with trustworthy people I know etc...

I can't stand Facebook. I understand the utility of it, but this is more of a project for fun. If it paid for hosting that would be enough.

I can understand people being paranoid about their business models, but I think it's mostly unfounded. You don't have to give all the details away. Building a business is harder that coming up with a new model. Chances are very, very, high that if you think you are the first to think of something you aren't.

There is a subreddit on startups that I really like. Everyone, shares their ideas Startups

I think you've got something. Before devoting a lot of time to developing the idea look around. Asking the question here is a start but don't make your decision based on your feedback from WF. What you want to see is people actually discussing the topic online. The Facebook suggestion is a good one.

I believe you'll turn up a lot of evidence that there is an interest in discussing business models. And in the process of turning over stones you're going to get a lot of ideas you'll be able to use. You might want to focus on "unconventional" or "unusual" or "offbeat" business models. Those adjectives will make a lot of people stop and take notice of what you're doing. Just don't disappoint them. Good luck!

      Me, personally?

Sorry, zero interest. Got enough on my plate without spending time discussing other models.

It may be something of interest to some, but it also could be a kind of "gateway drug" to shiny object syndrome and terminal procrastination.

It sounds good but not something worthy of a website for itself. Why don't you add some more features and make this just as a section on the website. You can build something like "Cool Startups"," Startup News" etc you get the idea.

Yeah, I'm thinking the value add would be content on business basics. Concepts that a work for all business not just IM. Sources of funding, SBC loans, incubator programs, cities and states with tax credits, VC funding, angel investors.

I could also include how to set up a book keeping system. How to find a good lawyer. How to get a trademark, etc.

As an idea it is very interesting, but making people engaged and offering information with value will be the hard part.
