Why not simply create your own product, and find out?

It's going to be different for everyone... even the title of the WSO is going to greatly change the number of people who read it.

And having some great affiliates in your corner when your WSO goes live is going to make a huge difference too.

So there's not going to be an average that you can hope to hit...

Put up a product, it doesn't cost much - and you'll know the answer to your question... (and look for my first WSO in a couple of days...)

It only costs $20 to post a WSO. And say if three people bought it, you'll be in profit. So there isn't much of a risk.

Just take a look in the WSO section.

Either people are benefiting from what they are doing - or there's a ton of altruistic people all trying to shovel money to the forum owners.

Now, is every WSO a winner? I daresay that there's WSO's that didn't make a single sale... not that I know, mind you, it's just that I wouldn't bet against that "fact".

I happen to know the stats behind one recent WSO, and it was impressive to me... it's well on it's way to breaking... well, I don't have permission to say how many sales. But I know I'd be happy with that number of sales.

Just do it... the costs are minimal, and if you have a good product, and know enough about copywriting to do a decent sales page, you almost certainly will have nothing to regret.

Everything is fine except copywriting. I have to get a good copy writer for the WSO, to write an eye grabbing sales copy.

You don't need a master copywriter to create your sales page. My very first WSO was a salespage I wrote myself and it sold over 6 figure -- I had no list and no affiliates.

Just get things going. Most people will look for ways to complicate things or keep perfecting what they have because it's simply a way of stalling things.

Take action. Use what you have at your disposal. You can always make things better later.

As mentioned by Ben, conversion rate will depend on many factors. Quality of Traffic, Sales Copy and the Offer itself.

You cannot base the numbers produced by other and expect that you will get the same results. It will only frustrate you more if we say that we are getting 10% Conversion rate on our WSO but when you go test it you only get 1% or even less.

The best way is not to compare your result to others but instead compare your result to your previous one. This is a great way to know if you are making progress or not.

Agree, yes it's different conversion rate for each person. So it's always better to compare our results with our previous one's.

    1. Going to depend on the service
    2. Going to depend on the type of list you are building.
    3. Going to depend on the abilities of the specific marketer

    Way too many factors here.

How long is a piece of string? ???

Conversion-rates are funny things, especially when you don't yourself own the site hosting the sales page.

Granted, you could still approximately measure it by measuring the number of sales divided by the thread's viewing figures, but I suspect that what you're really asking is "how many sales can I expect"?

    It's hard to predict!

In principle, though, it's like any other sales-page: if you drive enough targeted traffic to it, and it converts well, you make money.

Don't imagine that "just being listed in the Warrior Forum" is in itself necessarily going to make it profitable, though. That can happen if some combination of factors arises ...
    • you're already well-known and well-respected here by the local traffic
    • there's particular demand for what you're selling
    • you have good affiliates with responsive email lists
    • you pay to "bump" the thread frequently to try to catch "casual traffic"
    • you pay to "sticky" the thread
    ... and so on.

    Without
some combination of those factors, I think it's very unlikely to sell itself.

Also, having testimonials in the thread from well-known, respected, trusted Warriors who have both (a) bought and paid for the product and (b) used it and commented on the results they've achieved with it, is probably the "single biggest factor" in how appealing it is. I think that criterion is probably even more important than the sales post. (There are many WSO's listed with endorsements only from unknown Warriors who post only in the WSO folder to offer incentivized "review-copy reviews" and clearly haven't yet had time to use whatever-it-was; understandably, those products/services tend barely to sell at all, as is fairly evident from their threads. It may well even be that "testimonials" of that kind are actually a liability, rather than an asset.)

I've sold many WSO's over the years and conversion rates have been different with all of them.

It comes down to your promotion methods. Who is promoting the product for you, how targeted is their traffic and how good is the presell.

I will also try one and see the conversions. I am quite hopeful to get some sale.

    Hi,

    Here's a TIP for you:

    1. Go to Warrior Plus and search all the List Building products there.

    2. Filter out the old ones and focus on the new list building products.

    3. What do you see?

    4. Are list building products currently selling well in the marketplace?

    5. Also look at the older products and see if they're still getting a steady
flow of sales long after they were first launched.

That will give you a much clearer picture of what is going on right now
in terms of list building types of products.

    All the best,

    Gavin
