I Need Reviews of My Opt-in Page

Hi Warriors, once again I am asking for the help of the many great Warriors that always seem to lend their support.

I have recently put up an opt-in page and I would love your reviews.

How do you like the design?

Does it display correctly in your browser?

Is there something on the page that would keep you from joining?

All feedback is welcome!

You can Review my opt-in page here

Thanks for your time.

Eric

No matter what you do, keep the opt in box above the fold.

your opt in box in IE 8 is showing the box for name and email very narrow and as you type in your info it scrolls out of sight and then the yes send me button cuts off at the M in me "e" is missing

    1. I suggest you write In "Less" than a Week rather than "Under" a Week.

    2. Make some margin space around the text.

Yes, in IE8 the fields are very narrow.
I suggest you to also put the opt-in form inside a graphical frame.

You only have a few seconds to grab your readers attention, so the headline needs to be compelling.

I found you headline hard to read with all the different colors and lengths.

Try using either black or red and even out the lines, also put in some punctuation "..." are good to break up a sentence.

Move the opt-in form to the top of the page, or even better, make 3 forms -- one at the top, the other on the bottom, and a third in a non-blockable popup that shows after 5 seconds.

You also need to clean up the page, there's lots of things that are not aligned properly, etc.

    Hi Eric

    1. Put the optin box on the right side
    2. Loose the header graphic
    3. Put your headline in red, font: tahoma
    4. Put the video under the headline
    5. Put the bullet points under the video
    6. Put more white space between bullet points and the border of the page (to make it stand out)
7.Above the optin box, put "Enter your name..." and all that copy
    8. Change the button copy to "Free Instant Access" and test different things
    9. Make the button look more like a button
    10. Take your avatar and your name and put it at the end of the page (or remove it entirely)
    11. Take that testimonial, shrink it and place it under the optin box and under privacy statement.

If you don't know how to technically do this, hire someone for $20 on rentacoder.com or elance.com

If you want some cool optin templates, go here: Hot Video Squeeze Templates | Flash Optin Templates | Aweber Video Pages - The Best Collection Of Video Optin Squeeze Pages --> they are very well designed and they convert and they cost I think $47

After doing that, then test the following things:

    1. Video Fakeout --> that's something that gurus started to use and it's very effective. For example, go here and try to click on the video and see what happens: Non-Guru Case Study (this is a high converting optin page)

    2. Test your bribe offer: in stead of a free interview, test free video, or free report, or both!

Hope this helped you a bit, let us know when you make the changes.

    Take care,

    ~Davor

Oh and another thing - your video is not good. While watching it, the only question that was on my mind was - "So what?"

You spend too much time focusing on explaining who you are, the guy who interviewed you and the guy who made the guy who interviewed you important. There's no value for your prospect.

Focus on the benefits they'll get. Show proof of why somebody should listen to you, but focus on the benefits. The benefits of your freebie.

    Take care,

    ~Davor

@learnanew Thx. I will definitely add one above the fold

@manicman1 Thanks, I'll install IE 8 and see if I can fix the formatting

@im I like the vocab change. I've been playing with the margin space, but still haven't figured it out to my liking yet.

@xenergy any tips on creating a better looking Aweber form? I've been having all kinds of issues with the formatting when I create them. Can't seem to get a clean looking form that I like.

@malachikelly Thanks for the feedback. I'll work on the readability.

@joe118 Thx. I will definitely move an opt-in form to the top of the page above the fold and work on the alignment overall.

@davordebrecin Wow..awesome feedback. Thx! Going to take me a bit to soak all that in. I've got a lot of work to do on this page You are right I need to focus on my audience and not myself and the interviewer, I've read that a thousand times...guess it still hasn't sunk in

You guys rock! Keep the ideas coming!

I agree, the header graphic is unnecessary. The optin box should be higher. Everyhting Davor said. My page is also in an editing phase. Good luck.

Header is so and so - other than that I think you've done a good job!

Spelling... Always make sure you don't have spelling errors on your sales/squeeze page.

The one step the "Big Guy's" would have implemented sooner!

It should be Big Guys (plural nominative - not singular genitive!)

to busy to me for an opt-in

I would recommend you get rid of the header image. It takes up alot of space, you really dont need a header image for an opt in page.

just my 2 cents... hope that helps

@teachmeprofits Thx! I have removed the header from the page and will be working today to move the opt-in up.

@spycraft The header has been removed. I'll be tweaking the page more today.

@ThePensionGuy Thanks for catching that spelling mistake. I have made the change.

@monitori Thanks for your feedback, I'm working on cleaning the page up a little

@HermanPatel Thanks Herman! I have removed the header.

Why you are using that yellow picture of you?

It's not so nice to see it. Try to make it a regular pic. All the rest looks great.

@Mike I just removed the pic. Not sure I need it since, I have the video (which I am going to update). If I do add the pic back, I'll put a regular one up. Thanks!

    Ok, I've made some changes.

I've added an opt-in above the fold and also made the video smaller and put it to the left of the opt-in.

I think I have corrected the display issues with the opt-in boxes.

I haven't changed the font colors yet, but will get to that today.

Can someone please confirm they are showing correctly in IE8

    1. smile in your video, at least in the beginning
    2. name and email text boxes look tiny in internet explorer
    3. the home/about/archives context pulls the eyes away from your main message and makes it look sloppy
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[938583].message }}
  • Profile picture of the author Eric Transue
@Summerm I am redoing my video so I'll keep the smiling in mind . I just opened IE and see what you are talking about. I was testing in FF and it looked ok. Working on that now. I will look into removing the buttons as well.

Should I have a link to my main site from this page or leave the visitor no other option but to opt-in?

Test that, but I would go with opt-in or bounce as only two options you give your visitors.

And consider giving some free content upfront. It depends on the traffic source. If you're generating traffic source from a forum for example, where people have seen you and seen your posts, then you don't need much content.

But if your traffic is from PPC, then you really need some content for them and then ask them to opt-in to get even more of the stuff you just showed them.

    Thanks Davor,

I offer quite a bit of free content on my main site and link to this opt-in page a couple times from there. Thanks for all your input. I'm still working on it, but I'm already liking the look much better than before.
