Never realized that FIVERR was so mainstream ..

I was surprised to read this week's TIME magazine and see
that Joel Stein (The Awesone Column) was about outsourcing
and he used FIVERR as his exmaple.

In fact, he said that he outsourced his article (don't know how
serious he was) and the illustration on Fiverr.

I was just taken back to see how mainstream Fiverr has become
and how these little internet start-up companies are hitting the big
times. I'm sure those Fiverr sellers he mentioned in his article
are going to get a huge boost in their sales! Free advertisement.

Yeah, I've been surprised to hear certain people say that they've used Fiverr. I guess if you read blogs or forums, they end up getting mentioned quite a lot.

Different Fiverr sellers are often mentioned even in IM products and that brings them a TON of work for sure!

Then the critical question becomes, can they handle all the business...

You see a lot of Fiverr's best providers get overwhelmed and then quality begin to slide.

Its true. Too much order will definitely decrease the quality of work. Imagine you are in their position, you can really deliver the best quality if you have tons of order and modified. You will be crazy.

I was a Fiverr fan until I got hit by some legal stuff when someone copied a logo from another site and sold to me. I haven't stopped using it completely, but I only use it for stuff that wouldn't affect my business in a big way should things go wrong.

There's a lot of spam on Fiverr. Fiverr sellers are after easy money (most of them at least). They have automated systems to get tasks done that they charge $5 for. My business is far too valuable than that and for stuff such as content, backlinks, leads, design and logos etc. I prefer to pay a bit more and get them done by people who make a living selling such skills.

For those outsourcing heavily from Fiverr, make sure you double check your stuff before using them for business - there are loads of blackhat tricks out there that can nullify antiplagiarism tools....so be careful.

Fiverr is not too bad for hiring article writers , they charge decent and their quality is good. It's the same advertised in forum , example in forum they advertise as 1000 words are $10 , in fiverr its 500 words for $5 , if we want 1000 words then we might need to go for 2 gigs , so the ratio of words and cost is same and hence the quality .

I tried Fiverr and MTurk in their early days and in Fiverr people were selling stuffs like personalized birthday song, some greetings .tshirt design and much more similar stuff

So i left Fiverr and moved to Odesk to sell my services.I am doing good at Odesk. But when i look at Fiverr ,i regret myself i may have not left it because now people who have good reputation are earning there virtually doing nothing.

There was good WSO recently on Fiverr earning technique and author has well researched the topic and showed many examples ,how you can earn good money by doing little or virtually no work.

Fiverr is now the best micro job site of its class.

I do not doubt that some people have made decent money on that site AND there are tons of talent on there too. Kudos to all of them. I hope they all make boatloads of money!

The only issue I have is how the company itself does business. They banned me and accused me of breaking copyright laws in regards to the source code I was selling. When I proved them wrong and had the software company provide proof I was authorized they still refused to lift the ban. They also held my money for 90 days. To top things off I had zero negative feedback.

TOS was followed to the letter.

I have zero tolerance for business tactics like that.

Just got an email saying that they are launching into TV advertising.
So they are mainstream now. When you can afford to advertise
on TV then you know you have made it. Those 20% commissions
    are coming in handy.

I was going to say that if this is a TV ad, then they had better stress the spelling of fiverr.com, but it looks like they've made enough money now to buy fiver.com.
