That is so bad that it looks like a cartoon-ish parody of a failing graph... is the number on the y-axis units sold?

Is this for real or some ploy to advertise your clickbank type of site?

Does this show people are reluctant to promote clickbank products?

But i wonder how the so called guru's shows their 7 digits clickbank status and sell it poor newbies every month?

          Ugly site!

What exactly is the graph supposed to show? You can make anything look bad by compressing the time scale.

If you showed the last 3 years we would have an idea if it is a new problem or a seasonal cycle. As it is, a fall of only 7% in 3 months is normal in the current market as the projected decline in the US GDP for Q1 of 2009 is in a range of 6 - 7%.

If Clickbank is going down the drain how would you describe what is happening to Citibank, AIG and California?

I was wondering that too... what exactly are the numbers? Total products? Affiliates? Merchants? Something else?

That's right. And that's probably the cause of that 30% increase that happened in the first three months on CB. Most of the products were about making more money and they were launched through CB. The downward trend we see now is a result of less product launches about making money.

yeah.there is some decrease but info products are never going to loose their lustre.in fact their sales is going to increase as more and more people are looking for information on the internet.
And as long as info products are there ,clickbank is going to thrive.

As an affiliate it doens't bother me at all.

So what if Clickbank as a whole is making less sales than previously, that doesn't mean my sales are automatically gonna be down.

(And it's not like Clickbank it loosing money. It simply means they simply aren't making as much.)

I wouldn't worry about it at all, just keep on doing your thing.

    Zach

P.S- Martin is 100% right, every one has fluctuations in the amount of money they make. Everyone hits rough patches in their career and financial situation.

It's just a normal trend of activity being lower as we go through Summer. Actually, it looks like it's levelling off and starting to uptick (Shades of my stock trading days! )

All I know is that they are getting strict on who can sell. I had a product on their for several years sold at $147 - - had zero returns. I took the product off the market for a few years, and just reapplied to have it listed again. Now they're telling me I can't sell it for over $100 for the first 8 weeks. Pure ignorance if you ask me.

The value on the y-axis represents cumulative gravity of all products in the CB marketplace. Ie. it's the sum of each product's gravity. It doesn't represent anything, but it's useful for trend analysis. If the graph goes down for a certain number, then it means that on average every product lost = (old_total_gravity-new_total_gravity)/total_products of their own gravity.

It can be used as a representative number of what if happening in the CB marketplace.

For example, in the last 3 months there's been a 12% decrease in overall gravity.

If you want to change the time span of the graph, hover over the * and then you can select your desired time span.

If you choose max time span, then you can see a big upward trend. From January to the end of March 2009 there's been around 28% increase in total gravity. That's a lot and the reason is probably because some big launches were performed through ClickBank.

Ontopic: yes, it is really slowing down right now. We have to wait and see until the end of August to make more informative conclusions about why this is happening.

    Take care,

    ~Davor

I recently had an experience trying to buy (one of the most popular products) on ClickBank :

I log on to Paypal, and click the Pay Now button, and I am returned to the ClickBank payment page with the message: "Unable to process your order at this time".

This may go some way to explain why your ClickBank income is dropping off, customers who want to buy your product are not able to do so.

Perhaps ClickBank are blocking access to products when they become too popular?

Clickbank can go to hell for all I care, I don't depend on them and have a lot of reservations on using them.

Come on, the site doesn't even allow you to set a custom password, I keep creating new accounts just because of this. I've lost count of how many CB accounts I have created by now.

Its funny how over the past few months everyone has been complaining about clickbank and getting screwed yet their gravity has increased by about 30% in the first quarter.

Somebody is making money. Sounds like affiliates are making out good to with the gravity increase.

I guess don't believe everything you read on forums.

They were saying the same thing when I started about 5 years ago.

well i basically re-posted this since somewhere else someone pointed this out. Yes, if anything i would say that curve is probably seasonal related..or it just reflecting the general trend that people just dont spend much at the moment.

As for clickbank....the biggest gripe i have is actually the fact that we dont have real conversion tracking with clickbank. (As opposed to CPA eg. neverblue)...especially if you do adwords/clickbank.

I have been taking steps to move away from clickbank for awhile, I find them hard to deal with in that they are unresponsive to questions, etc. When I have a clinkbank question, I ask it here rather than ask them.

I'm actually quite interested to know about people's experiences with CB products. Are they really all that? Or has it become a parking bay for the obsolete?

Another thing, has any one noticed that when these so called gurus show you proof of their CB earnings that the format of the page looks different to how CB looks now? I wonder!!!

I have heard it said that the only people making money are those promoting each others' products. So until you become a member of 'their' inner circle, you're basically fed crumbs.

I hate to state the obvious, but we are going through a hellacious economic downturn, and it is nornal to have summer downturns. If you add these two known issues and throw in the unknown effect of government regulation, I am actually surprised it has not been even worse.
