How to determine Refund Rate of Clickbank Products?

I am in the process of shortlisting CB products and not sure how to find out which one has a high refund rate?

I used the following tools:
-CBGraph
-CBSnooper

They do provide refund rate stats for some of the products but not all, hence I am not sure.

I can always email the product creator, but it is not necessary that they will reply or tell the truth.

Would appreciate any inputs.

You can't find out what the refund rate is as Clickbank does not disclose that information. Anybody claiming to offer any kind of product or service that purports to report refund statistics from Clickbank is attempting to take advantage of you.

I use ClickBank's own Marketplace statistics, from which all those tools' "input information" comes anyway. My information is therefore more reliable than theirs, because mine is unsullied and undiluted and uncontaminated by their "secret BS algorithms".

    They're fictional.

There are two things you need to know about this ...

    1. There isn't a way to discover it, as it's information (rightly) not published by ClickBank. Beware of "other sites" claiming to be able, somehow, magically to "estimate" it from their own "secret proprietary algorithms": it's all bullshit - they have no more real information available than you or I have, from ClickBank's Marketplace statistics, updated daily. Refund rate information isn't included in them, and neither is any other information from which it can be "derived".

    2. It wouldn't be helpful for you anyway. Other people's "average refund-rates" aren't your refund-rates, are they?

There are a few niches which do have some slightly higher-than-average refund-rates, because of the slightly scammy/unreliable nature of the products and sales-pages, but here's the reality: the refund-rates are mostly determined by affiliate-behavior.

ClickBank won't keep on the market a product that has a high refund-rate across all its affiliates because they'd lose money on it: the refund costs and charges wouldnt cover their 7.5% profit on the unrefunded ones.

Some affiliates have high refund-rates across all the products they promote.

Others have low refund-rates across all the products they promote.

It isn't (mostly) about the products. It's about the pre-selling methods.

    Hi EliteIM,

I have seen several posts before about how to find refund rates with various CB products and hopefully I can provide some clarity to this issue. We do not disclose any refund metric to any 3rd parties. Only the account holder can see refund metrics for their specific account; Vendors can see a refund rate and sales amount for each Affiliate and their own traffic. Affiliates can see the refund rate for each Vendor they promote.

3rd party services that offer refund metrics on CB products can only do so for their own isolated traffic, or by sourcing the data from self-reporting clients; the data does not originate from ClickBank. While this can be an important insight into the potential performance of a specific Vendor, it is not accurate and your experiences will be different.

There are widely varying refund rates between Affiliates and Vendors. Much of this is due to the way the consumer interacts with the entire funnel (e.g., Display Ad or Email, Affiliate Landing Page or Presell Process, Pitch Page, Demographic, etc.) along the path to the purchase. As a result, one Affiliate's refund rate for Product XYZ may be double or triple the refund rate of another Affiliate, even though they are both promoting the exact same Vendor with the exact same sales process.

How an Affiliate elects to presell can make extraordinary differences in how much revenue they ultimately keep. Honestly in the sales process and transparency are essential. Overblown claims and promises will increase the refund rate for your promotional efforts and ultimately lead to less revenue.

    I hope this is helpful.

It is, very much so, and thank you for it! (Because it sounds ever so much better coming from you than just from Chris and me!).
