Why are you not getting any sales?

Hi warriors

Today I want to share one of the most important advice I have used throughout my business experience.

This is building relationships with your leads.

No matter what product or business opportunity you are promoting, you MUST build up trust.

People don't like to be sold. They are looking for solutions to their problems! When you help them solve their problems, you will sell like crazy.

If you just redirect a person directly to your sales page each time, then they will think you are just another regular marketer out there trying to take their money out of their pocket.

Give value, and then you will get results.

Hope it helps!!!

I am following this advice and not going the typical route of a freebie followed by an immediate long upsell/downsell funnel. Then just blasting your list each day with the same affiliate offers as everyone else using the same swipes. Who knows maybe it is working but I do want to make something that will last so I do not constantly have to burn down and then rebuild. I am going to give the blog route a try with valuable articles, freebies, giveaways and notifications of updates via e-mail.

This is a great point. I sign up for a lot of lists, just to see what other marketers are doing. I rarely stay on a list for more than a month. Most marketers hammer their list with sales pitch after sales pitch without ever providing anything of substance or even showing their list members how they can use the product to make more money.

I can't imagine this sort of marketer makes much money unless they have a huge list and manage to squeak out a few sales here and there. Even so, they would make a lot more if they would provide value to their list first.

There a few Camps who have different ideas of what Marketing is and how it should be approached.

Just to let you know there are a number of extremely and I mean extremely Successful Online Marketers who do in fact 'Blast' their email Lists relentlessly.

Typically those are marketers who have been around for many years and have built humongous Lists.

They frankly could care less about Unsuscribes. Its promo after promo after promo they pound their List with !

So contrary to the myth about how email blasting does NOT work...well it is just a myth

Now this brings me to the real point.

Does 'Blasting' actually Optimize your Email Campaign's Success ?? Probably not for most !

The fact is for most people having a strategic plan which consists of sending quality content to their Lists on a regular basis along with a portion of the correspondence centered around promoting products is a good way to go.

You need to build trusts and engage with your List. Yes, you are dead on about that.

The thing is I hear people regurgitate this same mantra all the time but ( with at least the emails I get and look at) they have no skills or exhibit no action in sending effective emails that are engaging.

The fact is people just to not know how to write in a effective 'Conversationlist ' tone.

I would work on that and highly recommend many in here go over to the Copywriting Forum. Where you can learn about writing conventional copy as well as email copy.

I know what you are saying, but I do not necessarily agree with this all the time.

I find some people do want Product and do want a recommendation of something that is of quality that they can purchase.

    Hi,

Striking the right balance and keeping things FRESH always builds
longevity in terms of response rates too from your subscribers.

I have a set schedule so I know what type of email I'm going to send
on each day of the week.

Having a plan there in front of you always helps.

    Stay safe guys,

The issue of building a relationship with your list has been taken
as a given, many times, without really defining what is a "relationship".

Is this relationship two-way? Or is it just one "guru" having influence
over his followers? Do I have to tell you about my family, my daily
musings, my vacations etc. to build this relationship?

I can think of many people who I do business with over and over again and
    they don't know my name.

Is this "relationship marketing" fitted to one type of business more than the
    other?

You make a great piece of software that helps me to create webpage graphics
on the fly, do we have to "like" each other for me to buy from you again?

In other words, how fundamental is this "building a relationship with your list",
    really?

It's all relative to your situation.

By "blasting" one of my email lists twice a day (300K+ people), I am helping the people on my list solve their problem.

And we're certainly not on a first name basis. In fact, they don't even know my name. They know my site's name and that's enough for them.

However, if I were building a brand for myself as a trusted authority, I would most likely take an approach somewhat like what was suggested by the OP

    Raydal,

By building a relationship I mean to build trust and let the person know that you are not only after his/her money. You don't have to share your family information if you don't want to.

I do recommend to share your dreams and aspirations as tell your lead how you started in this business.

For sure I know what you mean. I wasn't asking for clarification there.
I was just saying that the term is used so loosely that it has not real
      meaning anymore.

But when you [generic] say you are not after their money, the customer
is not so naive to think that you are being "nice" because you "like"
them. They know that you are in business to make money. Being in business
doesn't mean that you don't care about the customer but just
don't think that they believe the stewardess is smiling and welcoming
them to their seats because she loves them, or is in a really good mood
      that morning.

Hence why I say, that "relationship" needs to be defined (as you did
      in your case.)

    I agree with you bro.

When you start focusing on building relationships and giving value to people money will follow.

Nobody likes to be sold, people like to buy from people whom they resonate and know that can help them.

When you have a list that trusts you and sees you as an authority your sales are going to explode.

Don't worry about the size of your list, worry about the relationship with it.

You don't need a huge list to make a lot of money.

The more value you give the more sales you are going to make no matter what niche you are in.

    Cheers,

So funny both of these guys have identical cookie cutter wordpress blogs with similar to identical posts all geared towards selling MyTopTierBusiness.

      See their sig

Their sponsor must have told them to participate in forums to get the low hanging fruit leads and provide "value" to them.

Don't make it so obvious guys.

Just focus on providing real value and not posting in each others threads...

Yes, obviously we are selling a product just like you are, money needs to be made!

I don't see anywhere where real value is not being provided.

I was once a newbie who knew nothing and just because I am posting in my brother's thread doesn't mean I'm not providing value cause I am.

    Jason,

Yes its true that my brother and I are both with the same business and are both using our blogs for our businesses. But does this make us spammers?

How can you accuse us for making value posts in the forum? If you want to work with me go ahead! If you don't want to then don't do it.

I will keep on making posts and trying to share useful tips because I know that they will help people. If I just wanted to promote my business opportunity I would talk about how amazing MTTB is.

But Im not doing that and will not do it.

    Hope you understand

A mailing list is a marketing tool, it is never created with the intention of mailing family and friends, it is always created as a marketing tool to which you send marketing messages.

If your not getting unsubscribes your not pushy enough

Scenario 1 you get 50 people a day subscribe, your gentle with them send them lots of free stuff and give good info, every now and then you make a pitch

You make a couple hundred a month from your list, and unsubscribe rate is 3 or 4 a month

Scenario 2 you get 50 people a day subscribe your pushy right from the start and pitch in every email... you make several thousand a month from your list and unsubs rise to 10 to 20 a month

    Which would you pick?

And incidently unsubscribe rates are not tied directly to the amount of pitches you do, unsub rates are tied to the expectation of subscribers when they open your email.

If they expect to see content and then see a pitch thats when unsub rates rise

Consequently if they know there is going to be a pitch in every email you send when they open it and see the pitch they arent upset and conversion rates go up

Unsub and consequently conversion rates are driectly tied to not getting what they expected in the email

Its your job as an email marketer to set the expectation right from the start, train your subscribers to open emails and click on links.

Use content to bribe them into reading them, but make sure there is a link to to a promotion somewhere in every email you send

Another "GIVE VALUE + TO MAKE MONEY" Myth...

Guys... Listen! In order to make money in this industry, there is ONLY ONE SKILL!!!!

    That is to sell...

Load a 30 day follow up sequence in your autoresponder without EVER selling anything.
Just give value and help them succeed.

How much money do you think one can make with that plan?

    Here is the SECRET! Ready?

Learn how to produce first! Learn how to sell and make money.
Then take that result and show your list how you made them (That's Value).
Then SELL them products that you recommend.

Of course, there is no ONE method when it comes to selling but Giving 100% value without ever selling is just ridiculous.

      Salegurus,

Im definitely not as experienced as many people here, but Ive been in affiliate marketing for more than a year (even though you may not believe it). The thing is that "I'm starting out" with my blog and changed the company in which I'm working.

I've learned very important lessons that really work and this thread was only made to help.
I have not talked about my earnings nor exaggerated my earnings.

      I don't do that.

The only purpose of this thread was to share the advice of building relationship with your leads and to help people that are doing the opposite.

I really don't see what is wrong with that.

      Thanks for your comment!

Law of attraction going on here,... You attract people who like you and find you helpful, and repel those who don't. Nothing wrong with that.

But I do agree, money needs to be made, so it's okay to sell. As long as you are ethical, have given your best, your best 'value', ..... You can sleep well at night.
