Please help me define my niche

Hello... I'm working on a website to offer some services, but I'm stumped because I'm not sure how to define my niche.

I thought a writer's portfolio would be what I needed, but now I'm not sure because along with writing, I also want to help people who want a simple WordPress site, but don't know how to do it themselves.

I can install WordPress, write content for them, edit photos, create headers. I could do their social media posting for them. Video creation might be something I offer later too, as I go along.

On the writing side, I enjoy writing blog posts, articles, web content, and even some plr. I haven't written any e-books yet, but that's next on my list.

Though I'm by no means a real web designer, I've gotten several WordPress sites for myself up and running, have done two for others, and would like to do more.

Maybe it's not exactly my niche which needs definition, but a way to define the combined skills that I have to offer.

Do I come more under the "freelance writing" category, or more under some type of "marketing" category?

Do you think I have to choose one category or the other, or is it fine to do both?

It's hard for you to define your niche, because you're kinda all over the place. Focus on one thing, your specialty. Then if you want, use your other choices as a back-end service.

Be careful of the "Kid in the Candy Store" syndrome of trying to be everything to everybody all at once.

      Thank you for your reply.

I think I'll stick with the writing side of it for now, then if anybody wants to know whether or not I can help them with some of the other stuff, that will just mean that I can offer them better service.

I would focus on the easiest to generate qualified prospects. Once you have them in your funnel you can introduce them to all your other talents.

    You are a blogger.
You need to understand the main topic of your blog and a plan to monetize it.

Writing two posts a week, good quality contents and create a marketing plan to spread your content, work every day to share your content, and your blog will grows.

Just focus on the target audience you are writing for. Don’t think in terms of keywords, but in terms of what you can give to the reader.

Blogging is certainly my passion, and I've had plenty of blogs over the years. Some I've let fall by the wayside. Others I've kept up.

Currently, I have the biggest readership on a decluttering blog that I started just for fun a few years ago. It's on Blogger, and isn't monetized.

I've been debating on continuing it on a self-hosted WordPress site that I've set up for it. There are several ways it could be monetized.

I know I could probably put a "Hire Me' tab on the blog, but I wasn't sure that would look very professional to somebody that wanted writing done on another topic.

I also figured I should keep the blog separate from any writer's portfolio I create, just because...

It sounds like you could potentially offer a "Done for you" website/blog service. (based off what you wrote in your first post).

This would be a premium offer though because all of that requires a ton of time (could build an outsource team to do this for you).

So what Brent said earlier about offering your easiest - or in my opinion - most sought after skill to generate leads then offer them that d4y service in your back end funnel would be ideal.

Try to make your services more targeted to a specific niche. I would recommend building a website around your writing services first, and then do another different website with other services you might be interested in offering.
