Google Analytics NOT tracking Clickbank conversions correct!..

Hey Warriors!

I have been trying to use Google analytics to split test 3 variations of my sales page. I've made sales but it's not tracking any of these.

When you visit the sales page it does track "sessions" (i.e. I can see how many have been shown variation 1 vs 2 vs 3) ... and it does disburse traffic correctly to the 3 variations; however, when someone actually buys - it's not tracked. I've had multiple sales and it says 0 conversions for all 3 variations still.

I have the code all set up correct so this is not the issue (and Google analytics says my code is good on all pages when I "validate").

I'm wondering if the issue could be coming from one of these two issues:

1) It's Clickbank product, and once they're at the sales page, they then leave my site and go to the clickbank order page, then they re-direct back to my thank you page. --> Does this end the session or tracking when the traffic leaves then comes back?

2) Clickbank adds a whole bunch of tracking data to the end of my thank you page. So right now it's example.com/thanks/ ...but Clickbank adds all this other stuff after the backslash (example.com/thanks/?item=1&cbreceipt=Dl39sls...ect.) --> So does Google analytics not recognize that it is my same thank you page with all that other tracking data on the URL?

3) Because I want the page to be private I added this in the header:

<META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW">

...is that messing it up?

Any help/suggestions would be very much appreciated! Thanks

You should try some tracking software.

I use clixtrac it has a free trial and works great

Just do a search for click tracking software and make a decision as to which one will be best for you.

    Hi TheWebGuy,

We recently received reports that several clients are having difficulty using Google Analytics with updates made to our integrated sales reporting feature. We believe this is due to cross-domain tracking. See this related Google help document: Cross Domain Tracking with GA

We are going to update our feature to permit you to add in your primary domains, as described in the linked article, so that we correctly serve the tracking code on the order form and confirmation pages. Today, those linking parameters are missing so you're losing the analytics session when you leave your domain and enter the ClickBank domains.

We apologize for the issue this is causing and hope to have a fix in place soon.

    Thanks,
    The ClickBank Team

      Hi ClickBank Team,

May I know if you have an update on the Integrated sales reporting feature for cross domain?

I'm stuck in Analytics on what to use for the Destination Goal url. The current clickbank setup instructions is not making sense; Step 6 says to define the destination goal as the Thank You Page.

But which thank you page are you referring to? It shouldn't be my own domain's thank you page since the visitor will have left my site to the vendor's?

      Please advise.

      Thanks!

This issue seems to be happening all over again.
And the reason tracking is not happening is because of the missing hitType in google analytics tracking code inserted by Clickbank. See the image.
