New to IM, am I heading in the right direction?

Hello All,
I am fresh to IM as Well as The Warrior Forum, but have already found a lot of helpful information within this forum. I was curious if you guys think I have the right idea here. First and foremost, my goal within IM is to generate supplemental and "passive" income(duh, I know).
So far I have done some keyword research and found some high monthly search keywords with high advertising competition and decent CPC. After that I purchased some domain names with these keywords in them. I also originally intended on selling some of these domain names as well, as i have over 30 (not A LOT) but certainly don't plan on developing all these sites. At least not at the moment. On that note I also payed for a month of "premium" godaddy cashparking (since GD is my main registrar) which has yet to net me 1 click or cent. I purchased Cashparking with hopes of seeing which domains generate traffic and making a small amount of money (i had hoped for about $1.00 a day), which i believed to be realistic. But so far, so bad.
I have begun to develop a page on wordpress in which I intend to publish articles related to the domain keyword whilst promoting affiliate product offers. I may use ADsense as well but have no experience with it, and have heard it is not so great. But as of now that would be my main strategy.
Do I have the right idea here? Any feedback is appreciated and i know people ask,"how do i make money online" all the time. So i tried to outline what i've done so far and my goals at the moment.
Sorry for the long winded and ill-capitalized Post, Thanks!

You're sort of on the right track.

Writing articles that target keywords and building small Adsense sites is not a bad beginner strategy. Promoting Clickbank products is usually better, but it depends on the niche and the goal of your site.

How do you play on selling the domain names, though? You won't find much success there, unless you plan on building websites out of them and then selling those websites.

Even then, people generally only buy domains that have higher PR (page rank) and are already making money.

Trying to make money from domain parking will be disappointing. That's just not viable anymore. Their premium parking service is generally a waste of money.

30 domains is a lot to keep up with. Hopefully you turned off automatic renewals if you don't intend to make websites with all of them. At any rate, you can at least experiment with some different methods on them and see what works for you.

      Thanks for the reply Jennifer,
as far as selling the domain names I planned on listing them on godaddy auctions, sedo, ebay etc. I figured that I could flip the ones I chose not to develop within the year before they renew for at least a minimal profit or to at least break even. Thanks for the insight on the other aspects of my "plan"!

You could certainly get your money back on some of them, depending on the names and how appealing they are for buyers. Good luck!

Do I have the right idea here?
    IMO, no.

You should learn the basics before you start taking action with out a plan.

This thread will give you a good start: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...step-step.html

Going after search engine traffic is very shaky ground to build a business on. I suggest you do some studying before throwing more money away.

@Brent Thank you for your reply, I will certainly look into that guide . I am certainly not going waste any more money and admit I may have been a little hasty (i looked at it as an investment at the time and am only about $340 into this thus far).

    @Joe
Thanks for the reply! I only paid for 1 month of cashparking and im definitely not renewing it. As far as the business idea, sounds intriguing. Im into Fitness/Nutrition and guitar/ metal music. I am also a pretty decent artist (mainly drawing) as well.

This guy made a lot of money by drawing cats for people. (over $100,000)

Here is where I would start:

Read up on popular blogs about building a business:

        Smart Passive Income
        OkDork

And if you have the time/money and want a business course, I would suggest appsumo's monthly1k program

And read up on the warrior forum for traffic and marketing tips.

I hope I can set you off in the right direction. I wasted about a year of my life trying to find some "formula" or "secret method" to make money online, when all along doing something I loved and learning business was the secret.
Thanks so much! I will look into all of this, I truly appreciate you trying to help me get off to a strong start!
