Question About Surveys

I have heard this expression many, many times:

"If you want to know what to sell, create a survey and ask people what they want."

Being a newbie with no list, how do you find people to ask questions about what they want? Here on this forum? Other forums?

I am a little confused. Any suggestions?

A great way to survey the market is to survey this forum (note the different uses of the word "survey"). Visit this general discussion area often (and the WSO section as well) to see what threads are hot and which special offers are selling like mad. By doing this, you'll be able to find market trends. Find a problem, create a solution

A couple popular topics right now are offline consulting and CPA. WSOs covering those areas usually seem to sell very well.

So, how do you find information to create a WSO on those two topics if you have little or no experience in either one?

I really understand that creating WSO's of great value are ways to increase your income, but coming up with the ideas and content for them is overwhelming me at this point.

Any thoughts about where a newbie gets the experience or finds the info?

    Hello,
The best way to survey is to do a face to face with friends and family.
You will be very surprised about the ideas that you will feed off of each other.
You will find out first hand what a real newbie is looking for.
