Has the economy changed the ideal pricing for eProducts?

Hi, here's something I want to get out there and see
what fellow marketers are experiencing. How has
sales been for you in the past 6 months, and
do you find it harder to get sales than last year?

I think it's harder, and think that it takes more
now to generate a sale. I guess the question is,
are people still ready to spend money on eProducts
and how much?

Yes, value is great, the thing you put into your products.
But even if they are valuable... what products and price
ranges are working at the moment
...??

Would love some feedback on this one!

I priced my ebooks at $27 due to the economy and they're selling far better than they were at $47.

It may not be because of the economy alone, a $27 product will sell better than a $47 product anyday.

But, if the customer wants something really badly, no price is going to act as a barrier to him/her. I suggest pricing a product depending upon the mindset of your prospective customer.

With the economy people are looking for sales and good deals. So, I'm offering extra sales specials.

However, is it affecting certain niches? Are people traveling as much or doing as much entertainment? I'm suspecting that this might affect certain niches more than others. I don't know. I generally stay in the IM niche.

Thanks! this is really good feedback. Were these sales to your own list who knew you, or directly from your website to whoever?

Another thought, come to think of it, yes, I find it harder to sell higher priced items now, but now that I think about it, price ranges of $20-$40 have not been selling as good as they use to eather... maybe it's not the price, maybe people just are not as quick to share their cc!

There are markets with people out there that will not buy a $27 ebook simply because they think its gonna be rubbish.

It all depends on your targeted customer. If you want you can sell $2000 products just as easily as a $27 ebook, you just have to market to the right people

That sounds great! The highest price products I've developend, I have sold for $997. But generating $2000 sales just as easy as $27... that I would love more info on!

Outside the IM market, where demand is still not satisfied and where people
are willing to pay to solve their problems etc. That's just common business
        sense.

For example, the real estate industry is a goldmine (targeting realtors, I mean,
        not investors).

go and make a website targeted at plastic surgeons, offer a complete training program on 4-5 DVD's were you will teach them ALL there is to know on how to get boatloads of customers from the internet and I guarantee that they will pay even double that or triple if you position your product as THE course to get for them.

And that is just 1 base of customers that will pay that much...

I don;t even wanna talk about offering personal coaching and stuff.

I'm starting a program somewhat similiar to this idea only that in a different market...feel free to try this one if you want
